I bought a vehicle from a dealer (3 weeks ago) that was listed as a Z71 only to find out it was a work truck. It passed all the looks, bells, and whistles (until I decided to get new rims). The rims was the giveaway. After searching the VIN# I then knew I had been lied to. Whoever previously customized spent some serious money.

No, product wasn’t as listed even though it’s listed as a Z71 (which therefore makes it a breach in contract) on their behalf.

Z71 isn’t a description on a bill of sale for a vehicle.

You don’t have a case. Should have done your due diligence prior to purchase.

I have proof! It’s written on the bill of sale in the description.

I agree with you on this. I was focused on if the vehicle had wrecked and maintenance upkeep.

Isn't Z71 just an appearance package?

I have an AT4 Yukon XL and depending on where I plug in the vin I get different answers:
- GM: Yukon XL Denali/AT4
- Local Dealer: Yukon XL
- NHTSA: Yukon XL

Surprisingly, AutoZone correctly identifies the sub-model as an AT4 while GM doesn't differentiate.

Can you find the original window sticker anywhere?

Serious question: why the frick do you care if it is classified as a Z71 or not if it has all the features you asked for?

If what you say is true, the dealerships fraud would vitiate your consent. If not fraud it may have been an error. Error can vitiate consent if it affects a substantial quality of the thing and the dealership knew or SHOULD HAVE known of the defect.

If bill of sale says AS IS you have no recourse.

Does the truck have the Z71 upgraded shocks, skid plate, locking rear differential, etc?

Have you contacted the dealer for explanation and resolution?

No. It’s missing the off road package (upgraded shocks, skid plate, locking rear differential, etc) and 17 inch wheels. Everything else passes the eye test.
