Sea Cave owner, patrons describe ejected customer's violent rampage at Bywater arcade

I must say this Orleans Parish business owner and his customers are damn lucky this guy did not kill everyone. This article is crazy and it speaks volumes about how the NOPD is basically a skeleton crew.
NOLA article
At that point, however, Lea said the man verbally accosted him and asked "if I was interested in dying.”
The man went outside, where he brandished a butterfly knife and talked of owning an assault rifle before leaving at about 7:30 p.m. But he returned about a half an hour later and locked the front doors from the outside with a bike lock, trapping Lea and Sea Cave patrons inside, and began smashing windows.
"My face was right there (by the window) as it was happening," recalled patron Christian Cole on Monday, adding his lip was injured by flying glass. "He said, 'I have my AK.'"
Cole said he and the others inside soon escaped out the back door and Lea called the police, but the man had left by the time officers arrived on the scene.
"But later that night Lea watched from home through his security system as the man returned, this time with an axe, and damaged the arcade, inside and out, intermittently between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Lea said he called the police again, but the man was again gone when they arrived."
But the ordeal wasn't over. Late Monday night, a small group of Sea Cave regulars had gathered to help clean up, when the man returned, this time with a handgun, said Matt Ray, who was one of those on the scene.

"So as many of you may already know or heard by now Sea Cave suffered a very very bad break in last night. So we are writing this now to clarify what happened. The guy who smashed the place up goes by the name “Wolf” as far as we know his real name is Sydney.
Around 7:30 or so last night Wolf was caught vandalizing one of the arcade cabinets by covering it with stickers when told to stop and asked to go home he demanded a refund which we obliged just to get him to leave. He then became very verbally violent and threatened to kill not only the owners but several customers.
Once outside he pulled out a knife and continued to threaten people. He then left on foot. About 15-20 minutes later he re-appeared at the door and put a bicycle u-lock on it locking not only the owners but employees and customers inside then used some kind of watch to bust out one of the glass doors. Police were called and reports were filed.
At about 1am the owners left being the last folks out. Around two am we got a text saying he was back and smashing out the windows. Cops were called but arrived too late. After they left he returned again to smash out more glass… cops came too late again and then after about fifteen minutes left again.
Wolf would then return a third time and this time he broke his way inside and smashed every tv screen arcade and computer monitor he could find. He also busted the electrical meter and the gas meter as well as put glue in the locks on the gates so they could t be opened.
Cops were called again but again arrived too late. At around six am the owners left again after cleaning up the glass. One owner and an employee drove by Big Daddy’s bar afterwards at which point Wolf immediately saw us and booked it out of there foot.
We tried to follow but couldn’t catch him. At around noon we got word that he was seen on lower Decatur and then the river walk. One owner and about five other guys tailed him a good three hours looking for an opportunity to get him arrested but there were ZERO COPS in the French quarter.
At one point I even stopped the only patrol car I saw and pleaded for help only to be told it “wasn’t their precinct”.. we currently cannot account for his whereabouts.
Until we can we will be staying out of the space because we have it in good word that he is armed and aware that people are looking for him.
He also apparently tried to stab someone outside of Santos last night as well and there have been multiple instances since September that he has been stalking multiple women breaking into houses and pulling a knife and threatening multiple people (especially in the past week).
We fought today that beyond us he also has warrant out for assault and false imprisonment. This is a very dangerous individual and as far as we know he is still in town and should treated with extreme caution. Let everyone know help this a-hole and get him off the streets for all of our safety.
If you see him or have any info please send us a DM so we can pass it on to appropriate channels. In the meantime we will be looking to do some fundraising so our employees don’t suffer loss of income and so we can cover what costs have been incurred that won’t be covered by insurance.
If you would like to help please email gmail.com. We will get this man off the street and return better than ever. Thank you to everyone for the support so far and please please please be safe out there."

NOPD routinely had calls holding for several hours a few years ago. I can’t imagine it has improved much.
Their suspect is going to kill someone soon. Someone that unhinged is on the brink of exploding.

When the cops won’t do anything someone needs to step up and put this rabid dog down. He’s gonna kill someone, or a lot of someone’s. Just shoot him dead in the street.

That’s the dude they let destroy their business? Holy shite

If only ONE citizen in this story had a concealed carry, Street Fighter II Champion Edition would still be alive today.

His name would have been wolf if this was my place of business. These idiots only understand peeled caps.

I travel through there for work about once a week. That whole area is nothing but weirdos! Pink and green hair, leather vest, plaid skirts with combat boots wearing type of weirdos.

We’ll go get him. I’m sure he’s back on the street by now.
Really does seem like a guy someone could follow and take care of without any real consequences for taking care of
Him.

Sucks but it’s almost certain that the owners are of the defund the police variety

I spent way too many quarters playing that 1943 game when they had it at the 7-11 in Tigerland. Sad.
Couldn’t they make some plea deal with the roided-up Army CrossFit Captain who beat up the old man in Mandeville yesterday? Reduce his sentence if he goes and parks his minivan in front of The Wolf’s house and then take out The Wolf in the ensuing argument.

If this is true then I have zero sympathy for them failing to protect their own property. Someone needs to take The Wolf behind the shed Ole Yeller style.
