Scientists at Northwestern University say they may have found a breakthrough treatment for reversing paralysis in humans after successfully administering a new injectable therapy in mice.

In a new study, the team describes an injection of “dancing molecules” to reverse paralysis in mice and repair tissues after severe spinal cord injuries.

Just four weeks after the injection, the injured animals regained the ability to walk.

Stupp said they now want to push for human trials, by-passing large animal testing.

"We are definitely headed for the FDA to seek approval for use of our novel therapy in clinical trials, and we are very excited about this possibility that will make a huge difference to patients."

the good news here is that big pharma probably doesn't have much to gain from making this treatment disappear. I doubt the wheelchair industry is making anything close to what chemo industry is making.

This is wrong. You mean the economy doesn't want people out of wheelchairs working?

As this inflation period clearly shows, the economy suffers when no one produces anything.

If I was paralyzed I would let them inject literally anything into me if I thought it would reverse it.

In afghan i read a science journal where they de aged some mice.

They said the reason we age is because as we are constantly replacing our cells, theyre just a little bit worse than the ones they replace.

They figured out how to make the mice regenerate better cels and thus become healthier and appear much younger.

I also read about getting humans to regenerate lost limbs with the inner lining of pig intestine because it prevents scarring, and scarring is the only reason we dont regenerate like lizards.

I'll hold out hope because that would be insanely awesome, but they do a lot of wild shite to mice that never pans out for us lesser species.

Fake sugar also supposedly causes cancer in mice, so I guess it's a give and take deal.
