Why are instruments that distract kids from the task at hand -- being educated in a classroom setting -- allowed ?
I have no clue but then again this relative tells me that they also do educational tasks on their phones as well and every classroom has tons of iPads as well. A lot of shite is going digital in classrooms now. Textbooks, dry erase boards and whatnot are on their way out through a slow death from what I'm hearing.
It's a strange new world.

The teacher called the cop into the classroom and the cop went ballistic. Obviously, the cop was in the wrong here.. but like someone else said, this was not an issue that required law enforcement. Period.
What she was was wrong. It was not criminal. (disregarding their backwards law about school)
I once got sent home for wearing a maroon sweater that buttoned down instead of a maroon sweater than zipped down. My parents specifically bought it for me to wear to school and I got sent home because it was apparently not okay to have anything except jackets the school sold anymore.
When my parents asked why they didn't just tell me not to wear it again/call them/etc., they said it was a "disruption" for my sweater to have buttons.
Common sense should come into play here. What the student did was against the rules. She 100% deserved to be punished not only for the phone, but for refusing to leave the classroom.. which at MINIMUM would be a suspension. She did not deserve to have law enforcement called and be thrown around.

Uhhhh .. The 20+ crowd is pretty rude and disrespectful at the grocery store .. The 40+ crowd was taught respect by their parents .. The 20+ crowd had parents trying to be their best friend and kissing their asses, so as to not rock the boat ..
Not saying this is you, because it probably isn't .. But broad brushing the 50+ crowd is pretty goofy and disrespectfully condescending.. Come on ..

Don't you work in a restaurant? What would you do if she came and sat in your area and refused to leave when asked?
Posted on 10/28/15 at 8:34 pm to LouisianaLady
The cop asked her to get up. Now there's another video showing the girl swinging at the cop.
Everyone that disagrees with what was done, what was the better alternative?

Sorry, but I'm sick to death of hearing about how we need to beat the shite out of our kids to "teach them respect" when the same people claiming they "turned out fine" are actually the most disrespectful, rude people out there.
Whoa......literally, I don't think that there is one person in here that has advocated this.
Look, I'm an old person, and I promise, I'm polite and respectful to younger people when I bump into them.
If I read your last post correctly, you are admitting that cellphone use is disruptive now, correct?
I think we can agree to disagree. I don't advocate beating the shite out of kids in class. I do advocate having them properly removed, and physically if necessary. I want the 99.9% that are there to learn to be protected from the disruptions. That's it.

Cellphones are disruptive .. Period .. in the wrong setting .. Hell . . Subway has cellphone policies in their lines ..

But what else can you do?
I guess the question would be, what is the protocol? I am sure there are rules set up that the teacher is familiar with on what steps to take for most situations that would arise. This cannot be the first child to pull their phone out.
I doubt protocol is to stop the class, get the principal in there immediately, then call Roid boy to kick her arse.

bullshite.
Jones and I bitch about this every time we bother going to the store. It is to the point where I dread going because people are so rude. Don't even get me started on the way these 65 year old women talk to cashiers.
Ask a server to rank people they wait on from best to worst. Older white women are wayyyyy at the bottom.

You clearly don't understand the role of SROs in public schools.

Exactly. Just like I doubt the protocol for roid boy was what he did.

They aren't disciplinarians. They are there for safety. She was not threatening anyone's safety.
He has been at the school for 7 years. If he was regularly called into classrooms for students who were being bitchy, why would this be the first time we see him snap? Sounds like this was not protocol.

Grown men put 14 year old boys on a pedestal, praying they sign with their favorite school in three years, while idolizing them .. Do we really wonder why kids have zero respect for elders and authority today ?

I really can't wait to see the actual effects on this country in about 10 years from this anti law enforcement movement. It's going to be glorious
With Police departments across the country now struggling to hire people and fill openings, the effects it's going to have down the road is going to be felt by everyone. Quality of life is really going to get much worse.
People will get exactly what they want in just a few years. We just have to give it time to process through the current crop of veteran police officers to the next generation. It's a dying profession.
People that bitch about the quality of law enforcement now? Get back to me in 10 years and let me know what it's like for y'all then.
We are already seeing this in Baltimore and elsewhere.
And you know what?
I don't blame the cops.

I can assure you servers would rank black women worse than older white women. You must have worked at a restaurant that didn't serve black people.
The elderly are rude in general. They don't have much time left give them a break.

You're wrong Rag. The fault for children not respecting their elders rests squarely on the shoulders of school teachers, and police officers. F*ck the establishment.
