So what do you do when your class changes and she's sitting there still refusing to move?
Why would I care? If she wants to face the consequences of skipping class then let her. I highly doubt that the consequence is to get your arse beat by a police officer.
quote:
Or better yet, a state auditor comes into your persistently low achieving school and marks you on rigor on your evaluation because you don't address the student not paying attention to the lesson? And it costs you your teaching job.
Please. This is a joke right? There's no real world situation in which this happens or matters especially given the context of the scenario.
quote:
I'm sure teachers would love to just ignore students who don't give a shite but it doesn't work that way.
Or you could handle it through the proper channels. The teacher called security, cool. That's his/her choice (which I disagree with for the most part) but how much teaching do you think got done for the rest of the day? Not much if I had to guess.

You did though so answer the question

Sounds like you are saying "all of them" to me:

I usually leave the supermarket wanting to murder people ~50+ in age. Why, you ask? Because they are hands down the rudest people alive

There have been a couple of posters try to explain to you why they are called when a student needs to be removed from a classroom, yet you continue to stick your fingers in your ears even after admitting that you did not go to a school with a SRO.
quote:
He has been at the school for 7 years. If he was regularly called into classrooms for students who were being bitchy, why would this be the first time we see him snap? Sounds like this was not protocol.
Maybe, just maybe, he has never come across a student that refused to leave the classroom after he asked them to. Or maybe he just flipped his shite this one day. It's pretty silly to assume that because he flipped out this one time he must have never been in this situation before because clearly he would react this way every time he is in this situation. Do you realize how incredibly illogical that is?

Give over Rag, you know that this has a bit a truth to it. Especially in the South.

No I am not. Sorry you interrupted it that way. But yea, 99% of rude interactions I DO encounter are from the 50+ crowd.
The majority of experiences being from that crowd =/= all people in that crowd do it.

I believe in decency and respect for others .. That starts and ends at home with parenting and a solid nuclear family ..
Posted on 10/28/15 at 8:46 pm to LouisianaLady
So just 99% of them .. My bad

Oh look. Exaggerations.

How do you know if youre not a parent yourself?

You clearly don't understand the role of SROs in public schools.
They aren't disciplinarians. They are there for safety. She was not threatening anyone's safety.
You are wrong here. Their sole reason for being there is not just safety.

And if you have dead parents and are in foster care, we get to bodyslam you?

Are you retarded?
99% OF MY INTERACTIONS. Not 99% of people. Jesus dude. This isn't that hard.
Let me try to make it easier:
99% (made up number) of road deaths are from drunk drivers
vs.
99% of drunk drivers will kill someone

I still see no solution here.
I got here late and didn't read the entire thread, but with this girl disrupting the class, what was the solution in this case? She obviously planned to be completely disruptive and refused to leave the room. Are you supposed to baby her? Or just let her st there and disrupt the rest of the class?
Posted on 10/28/15 at 8:49 pm to LouisianaLady
Parenting can come from more than just mom and dad .. It's the family you grow up in .. Are your mom and dad rude assholes ? or are they in the 1% ?

So that justifies being a little bastard kid with no respect for authority to do what she wants, when she wants?

So explain to me what the point of the SRO is, sir.
is it to scare students? to beat or threaten them?
honestly, most old people are out of touch. they ruined this country playing with mommy and daddys credit cards, are shitty parents themselves, and are literally too stupid to realize that they are the ones at fault.
Posted on 10/28/15 at 8:51 pm to LouisianaLady
You're really sounding stupid here, LL .. Glad you stopped at undergrad and the $28,456 a year job rather than law school .. That probably wouldn't have worked for you ..

Can I be honest with you without getting you upset?
I have seen you on here get more angry over guys painting "all chicks" with a broad brush. You correctly talk about how stupid and immature it is for guys to group all women into a group because of a bad experience they've had with women. That's probably the biggest trigger I see for you on here.
Yet you sit here and paint all (or 99%) of people over 50 as being rude. Because of your interactions with a few.
Do you see the hypocrisy?
