That's a pretty funny video, but it basically is a video for the grammar nazi types. Most people, including the creator pronounce it 'jif'.
The english language is full of words that aren't pronounced phonetically. Now I will leave you with a gif file of my own. And I want you to know that when I pronounced it in my mind just then, I said "jif".
