Unless you are already a highly competent ELD shooter all you will do is waste ammo. If you want to shoot the full 2 grand I would prefer the .375 CheyTac.

What are the mission requirements? You in the air,convoy, or on foot? What is the terrain? Two different weapon systems that have advantages and disadvantages in certain situations. If I am on foot M249, in the air M60 ,but again several factors go into this. My primary was the M249, fun to fire annoying lug around.
