Got almost triple the product in Oregon than what I got in Illinois due to taxes. My buddy that lives in the Chicago burbs buys exclusively from a dealer, because the taxes are so ridiculously high. Seems like going to a dispensary is more a convenience than anything.

Maybe if this lefist-statist shithole disintegrates sufficiently, it'll end up in anarchy and then leave the state of nature for a constitutional republic. Sort of like the other parts of western civilization did centuries ago.

Wait so regulate and tax the shite out it is struggling?

I know it worked with alcohol but that’s because alcohol is much harder to put in your pocket than weed.

When do they introduce the legislation to suspend sales tax on other consumables so retailers can compete with the online sales of the items looted from their stores?

The quality from dispensaries is the best of the best. It seems people would be willing to pay a little extra for that alone.

nobody mules from Mexico anymore, you don’t have to.
shite goes out the back door of grow houses every day

and you’ve still the unlicensed grow ops here that we’ve always had.

last order I got from “my guy” was strain specific, beautiful buds of dispensary quality with a professional trim job

I don’t think they can’t. I know they can’t.

That product still gets sold somewhere.

They’re required to destroy it. You really think the grow facilities are able to say “oh well, didn’t pass state inspection. Anyone else want to buy it?”

The growers are then left with product that failed the inspection. Sometimes an entire crop. That product still gets sold somewhere.

Some of the waste gets made into those cheap cartridges you see on the black market.

In Washington and Oregon the dealers are R.I.P., except those to minors. Reasonable taxation, retail, and production laws have pretty much wiped out most of the black market.

Small time dealers are mostly gone but the black market itself is very much alive and well in Oregon.

Oregon ships out a lot of pot. This only talks about illegal outdoor farms. I know there are legal farms (indoor/outdoor) that work both sides of the law.

Since legalization in 2014, law enforcement officials say that illegal cannabis growing has skyrocketed. Busts have continued to happen over the years in areas such as Deschutes, Jackson, Josephine and Klamath County.

Authorities say it’s due to the demand for marijuana in parts of the U.S. where it remains illegal.

Wait. People will buy from the vendor who is half price? I wonder if the half-priced vendor is sad that he doesn't have brick and mortar to pay taxes on?

A S. Carolina rep. has introduced a bill to the U.S. house, legalizing weed, with a 3% tax. The Dems are trying to force it into a 25% tax. What could go wrong?

We are a few years from seeing millions of Americans becoming farmers.

The advantage of legal retailers is that it's legal. I am willing to pay extra to know I am not going to get in trouble if I get pulled over on the way home.

Same here in Louisiana.
We are paying $110 for the same thing I can go to Nevada or Colorado and get for $30-$50. With only 7 state bribed dispensaries in the state, that extra 100% is going straight to politicians.
