Landfall as a Cat 2, 965mb, and only moving at only 3mph. That’s a lot of wind and rain for hours.

Anyone with a guess how long I’ll be out near Malbis?

We have some massive pine limbs down. Just peeked our the door and one came about 2 inches from breaking our living room window. It is fricking gnarly here right now

Yeah it’s snotty af no doubt. I wouldn’t expect power back until this evening. I’m still surprised it went out so quick last night.

Stay safe brother.

With it only moving 3mph, some areas are going to see drenching rain with 60-100mph winds for around 8 hours straight.

She needs to pick up speed and move on out.

Checking in from Fairhope. All good but can’t see shite. Also borderline impossible to get cell reception.

Linemen won’t go out and do repairs until the wind dies down. With the storm moving so slow, I would expect to be out for a while considering they may not steer assessing damage until later today or tomorrow.

You’re on vacation, correct? Why didn’t you leave before the storm? You may have a hard time getting out now with debri and road closures.

I don’t know how you are gonna leave at this point. It’s gonna be a mess on the roads.

Hate to say it but this storm isn’t going anywhere fast. You will be in this shite for many more hours before you can even think of leaving

We were to start vacation on Tuesday but instead of driving through the storm Tuesday the owners let us come Monday. We "thought" the storm would have been hitting closer to Louisiana/mississippi and wouldn't have been this bad. We could only have gotten a refund if it was a mandatory evacuation. So far it has only been listed as voluntary evacuation.

Duke you would have a field day here in Daphne, AL right now. My double door gate blew open and I walked out there to shut the thing because it’s driving me nuts banging around. I couldn’t get the door shut. 100 mph wind gust I call BS. I had safety glasses on, rain jacket with a hoodie, and felt like I was getting sprayed by a pressure washer. Right now we are in northern eye wall that is red colored on the radar. Guy just said on the local news as I’m typing this we had mezzo something and the winds might be exceeding 110-115 mph gust. I wish I had something to measure the wind. This reminds me of Ivan type wind. Local guy just said we now have landfall.
