Well, you're certainly getting your money's worth now. You've got a front row seat to a hurricane making landfall. It'll be daylight in about 90 minutes, so no power won't be as bad.
Trying to leave now is a terrible idea. Stay safe and good luck.

I had safety glasses on, rain jacket with a hoodie, and felt like I was getting sprayed by a pressure washer. Right now we are in northern eye wall that is red colored on the radar. Guy just said on the local news as I’m typing this we had mezzo something and the winds might be exceeding 110-115 mph gust. I

Also in Spanish Fort. Lost power @ 12:30, last night. My phone says winds are around 50. Very steady with some occasional gusts. I guess it’s going to get a little worse before it gets better.

Does anyone know the anticipated timeline for the Eastern Shore? Meaning, when should we expect to be at worst part and when will this thing finally move through?

Thank you for the encouragement. It's hard to look at anything positive when dealing with children trying to explain that were going to have to leave earlier than expected. It wouldn't be as bad if there wasn't water coming in the patio door and living room ceiling.

Worst part is right about now until 6:30-7:00 am. Moving so slow, but we will get through it. Hold on, and stay safe.

We were to start vacation on Tuesday but instead of driving through the storm Tuesday the owners let us come Monday. We "thought" the storm would have been hitting closer to Louisiana/mississippi and wouldn't have been this bad. We could only have gotten a refund if it was a mandatory evacuation. So far it has only been listed as voluntary evacuation.

Dude.. are you mental?

Buddy it’s rough out there. Don’t expect your electricity on anytime soon. No one can safely work in this mess.

Learning experience for you. Kids/family do not mix with hurricanes, they need their routine.

That being said, a slow moving hurricane is the worst.

I think our local weather experts took a nap. I can’t imagine it getting worse. A few people I know are seeing relief from the eye. For now. The backside will come around though. I’m in the northwest eye wall. How long will this last? I’m not Duke or Slackster but the local weather guy keeps saying we are going to have a long haul because the storm is moving so slow. I know Foley is in the eye right now. I can’t answer your question but it appears this isn’t going anywhere soon.

Now may be the time to change the narrative and explain why you’re leaving early and that they are lucky to be alive given their current circumstance.

“Vacation” talk is over. Focus on safety and survival.

Good luck, amigo.

Fairhope is holding up well given where the storm went, but still pretty sketchy. Let me know if I need to go check on him once everything calms down.

Just saw a tweet from a guy saying Zekes marina is destroyed and he has a couple charter boats in his front yard.

I don’t think he is. He just didn’t think this through.

I just hope he doesn’t try and drive out in 3ft if water. He’s stuck.
