I can back that up. No data but we’ve received substantial rainfall. Nonstop since 11am.

From NWS Mobile:

Rainfall Total so far due to #Sally is 12.71" near NAS Pensacola.

Rainfall totals keep increasing along the coast. Conditions continue to deteriorate across the area. Stay safe, y'all!!

Both my cameras, MM 3 in Ft Morgan on the oyster farm and on West Beach at 13th Street are offline so I’m assuming power is out at both locations. I’ll be booted up at dawn to assess damages.

You're not getting to the coast at dawn. The storm will still be on top of you at dawn.

Power flicking off and on messed up almost all my GFI plugs. Can’t get three of them to reset so having an odd mixture of lights and receptacles not working, including the AC. None of the breakers are tripped and I don’t have an outside outlet that is getting wet that would be the cause. Fortunately it is relatively cool outside and the ceiling fans are working. My electrical troubleshooting skills are limited to replacing in kind. I’m sure there won’t be a bunch of available electricians tomorrow or that I can run to Ace Hardware and buy 3 replacement GFI’s tomorrow.

Falling pressure doesn’t necessarily mean increased winds right?
It could just mean that wind speed isn’t dropping.

Recon got a couple of readings under 970....pressure is still falling

It rounds out to 970. It seems like they have their xtrap right for the plane pressure vs what the sondes are reporting. That's another 2 mb. I see an eye on satellite.

Unplug everything on that line and then reset. It could have blown a device plugged into that line and the GFI is doing its job.

Plug back in one by one.

Zoom in and you'll see the pink. Also, if they're calling for 20", you can usually bet your arse the local totals will be even higher.

Got it. So a coastal beach town may experience 20” over a 24 hour period.

Are there many mid to major cities 30-50 miles from the coast that can handle that amount of rain without flash flooding?

Any incandescent lights dim?

Sounds like partial power issue.. you may want to kill power to appliances to be safe
