Duke what is your guess on what NOLA will get out of this. What track would you say it takes. Not asking for definite outcome just curious where you think Landfall would be. Just your guess. If you have one

I don't do landfall guesses.

My current thinking, assuming the NHC path, NOLA should be in pretty good shape. Mississippi Gulf Coast and Mobile get the worst of it.

WHA?!

85 mph aready?

Balls.

Looks like things are a good 6 - 12hrs ahead of "schedule" when compared to the 06z HWRF run. Indications were that the system would be battling some mid-level shear today but that appears to not be happening or Sally is just winning that battle.

That run got down to 962mb and 92kt too. Damn.

You know, I don’t get irritated or offended by memes at all, but this is distasteful as frick considering what’s going on 2 hours west of Baton Rouge.

Is there any W to E upper level shear to prevent this from happening, to some extent?

Not as much as there was just 12 hours ago, and it seems to be dealing with what shear is there better now. It was only a moderate shear environment to begin with. If it had been seeing high shear, it would have likely gone the way of Marco, or at least, similarly.

Ahead of schedule, indeed.

Alright then. Time to officially check in. Can’t believe she is getting herself together so quickly. The Gulf is just so prime for these systems.

Not live, but if you know how to read it you can figure things out from the raw data a little faster than the image comes up. I can read it, and I tend to just lean on the pretty pictures tbh.
