It could, but I think the shifts from here will be small. It's going to be generally drifting west today with the steering, the movement here is just organization. This move obviously implies a eastern shift is way more likely than going west any.

Wait ... I'm not sure that sounds right.

Oh well, too late to take it back now. I've already typed it.

Boy that tightened up on the north end. There's our core forming band. Next step is getting it around the W and S side.

Is there any W to E upper level shear to prevent this from happening, to some extent?

Looks like things are a good 6 - 12hrs ahead of "schedule" when compared to the 06z HWRF run. Indications were that the system would be battling some mid-level shear today but that appears to not be happening or Sally is just winning that battle.

Duke what is your guess on what NOLA will get out of this. What track would you say it takes. Not asking for definite outcome just curious where you think Landfall would be. Just your guess. If you have one

Happening so close to shore, too. Like I said, damn interesting. Plenty of heat and moisture there, for sure, and it isn't strong enough to create much upwelling to cool the waters. Shear seems to have been the only impediment.

That last pass got my attention bigly.

That core curved band got it's self right by the center really quickly. Sally clearly convected away the mid level shear problem but it always looked pretty light (to me) at this stage anyway.

Well, NOLA either is or isn't getting 15mph winds as I type this.

You’re not lying. Got a light purple barn in the same pass we got our first purple barn.
