Always interesting to see hurricanes at this stage of development. They all are taking the same steps, but none of them are the same.

This is one of the most fascinating stages to me. That and the triggering of EWRCs.

There will be a hurricane churning 45 miles due east of New Orleans and people will call them morons for “missing” it. Yes, we know.

The forecast was damn good

The reporting "missed" it if that makes sense

Forecast has the cone and they were pretty much right on

The reporting was NOLA NOLA NOLA NOLA NOLA and not much mentioning the very good chance it isnt bad in Nola

BECAUSE NOLA NOLA

Oh it may actually have a greater chance of mississippi? frick that place nobody cares about the landmass

So, you, rds, duke, and those reading off forecasts did great. Media that most get there information from? Sucked

Thats where you get the "nothingburgers" from

Chevron Petronius platform 65 miles WNW of Sally wind at 500 feet above surface. Surface winds are not that high but it does show that Sally is getting stronger and closer to that location

I work on Marlin VK 915, about 8 miles from Petronius. We're showing 51knots sustained and 56 knot gusts with 17 foot seas at the moment. It's definitely picking up

She's almost reached the same latitude as the mouth of the Miss R. Would it be illogical to think there is going to be an Eastward shift again next advisory?
