Lots of blame to go around and some of that falls on him. Cops in Dallas and BR lost their lives because of this situation. He would be doing all of us a favor if he would just shut the frick up and go away and be thankful that the witch hunt out to end his career did that and only that.

I realize you're too dumb to understand that things are not black and white. Sterling should have complied, Salamoni should not have have rushed head first with threats of execution.

Alton wasn’t going to jail that night, regardless of the actions of Blaine. He would have been killed months before this if his gun didn’t fall harmlessly out his waistband. He was a career criminal that wasn’t going back to jail regardless of the situation. He proved that numerous times

Those officers were power tripping assholes that blew this way out of of proportion.

Salamoni was. I think Lake pretty much handled the situation correctly.

Yes I watched them. If Elvin Sterring would have complied instead of being a pos thug, his dumb arse would maybe still be alive

If by comply you mean willingly get tackled from behind by a man screaming he is going to shoot you in the fricking head then sure.

Sterling isn't without fault. If he complies and puts his hands on the hood, he's still alive. However, if Salamoni doesn't rush in threatening to execute him before anything else, maybe this doesn't escalate like it did.

You can keep saying this, but it doesn't change what Salamoni did. He deserves to be fired and is lucky that's all that happened to him. Your thought process makes me think you don't have any critical thinking skills.

As previously stated, let him get paid from the massive lawsuit against the City,BRPD,Civil Service....then, he can be the Chief of Police for the great City of St George!

What if it turns out he's not just like that with black people and he does this to an affluenza teen selling wax to his private school classmates? Some of y'all will be singing a different tune.

After watching the the video I've changed my opinion.

Salamoni is right to be fired. He escalated the situation when Lake was calmly trying to get things under control.

At the point Salamoni arrives all he knows is Sterling might have a gun and Salamoni grabs him by the neck forces him onto the hood of the car and says he's going to fricking shoot him in the head.

That's not professional. You can just compare his demeanor to Lake's directly to see why one was fired and one wasn't.

The shoot might have been justified, but Salamoni definitely didn't act according to training.

Kill the cops, as evident by reaching for his gun while struggling with the cops

He was so high he either thought he could talk his way out of an arrest or 2 more cops would be dead

No doubt in my mind he would have killed them if he would have been able to get his gun

Jesus Christ dude. When a gun is seen, confirmed, or identified it's always called out. If nothing else it was verbal confirmation for all the damn video/audio devices the exact moment the gun was seen. Working together or not has nothing to do with it

I agree. I'm saying both Salamoni and Lake knew the call they were receiving. A man brandishing a gun.

Sure, Sterling wasnt brandishing the gun at the arriving officers, but to say they fired in self defense after knowing the call, a suspect having a gun, is silly.

Lack of training.

Not excusing Sterling for being non conpliant, but within the first 20 seconds, Salamoni is threatening to execute him if he doesn't comply. That's not how being a police officer works.

...even when dealing with a guy that had just minutes earlier pointed a gun at someone's head? That's a tough situation. I think he was attempting to control the threat and get him to comply. Consider that those extreme warnings still had no impact.

NIH...you sound like a democrat.

I'm pro cop in the vast majority of these situations, however, I think it's stupid for conservatives to be tied to this "back the blue" at all times mentality. we should be wary of the state's power to detain, arrest, and kill people. I originally thought Salamoni was wronged for being fired prior to watching this video. After seeing what happened on that body cam, it's obvious to me that he needs to be fired. He dangerously escalated that situation from the start.

You don’t think that maybe Lake was waiting on back up before trying to disarm the 300 lbs, armed person that was high on numerous drugs?
