He was so high he either thought he could talk his way out of an arrest or 2 more cops would be dead
No doubt in my mind he would have killed them if he would have been able to get his gun
He seemed mighty calm for someone with the intention of killing 2 cops that night.

It’s could be said that letting someone know from the jump start that they will be shot if they don’t comply could stop any bullshite before it starts. I know it would work on me

Such a nice pic of the innocent entrepreneur as works hard to pay his taxes and and support his family..
Dude is probably breaking federal law by selling sketchy CDs
Fed/state law broken by selling drugs
Felon with gun in pocket that he used to threaten someone who was at the store with a friend.
yada, yada, yada
But gee, that SLU law professor said that poor st alton just had no idea why the officers would want to arrest him for breaking the law and threatening people and that is why he resisted.

Major fail for local media covering this! WAFB splicing different videos together and dubbing audio from one to another at different time lines.

pretty easy to do that from a distance with your gun drawn.

I originally thought Salamoni was wronged for being fired prior to watching this video. After seeing what happened on that body cam, it's obvious to me that he needs to be fired. He dangerously escalated that situation from the start
I mostly agree. I don't think Howie did anything wrong. Salamoni went in hot. He definitely escalated the situation unnecessarily it seems.
Sterling was definitely a dumbass for not just putting his hands behind his back and complying.

what time mark?
WAFB
Start at 23 minute mark
Guy in white wife beater
Looks like Sterling gave him cash & then something white
And? What does this have to do with Salamoni acting like a raging bull and escalating the situation into a violent conclusion

to say they fired in self defense after knowing the call, a suspect having a gun, is silly.
I can't follow your logic. Are you saying you can only fire in self defense if you're surprised by a gun? They were called to the scene with a man suspected of brandishing a firearm. They didn't know for sure until the POS went for it on the ground cause he was resisting the entire time - probably because he possessed a gun illegally. Suspect resisting goes for a gun - officer fires. End of story.

I agree
don't see why Lake should be suspended.

Explain how you are going to get someone who is high on a cocktail of drugs and doesn’t want to go back to jail to just give up his firearm

There’s a reason cops aren’t trained like that. They aren’t even that cartoony in movies

Those type of situations don’t get resolved by patiently waiting for an armed felon to change his mind and allow himself to be handcuffed. When your job is to restrain and handcuff a noncompliant 300 lb thug with a gun, your first attempt to do so with verbal commands will likely use as strong of a language you can to convey exactly how serious you are.

Real life is more real than a movie. I’m sure you have plenty of experience dealing with armed, high criminals, sugar fist

After seeing the video, it does give you a different view point than the original video.
AS put himself in that situation and I can say Salamoni could have handled it different, but I am not in his shoes.. It is easy to Monday morning QB.
The fact he sounded intense and said frick a bunch doesn't make it sound good, but everyone reacts different. Some people can remain cool calm & collected & others are more emotional.
Either way, it's probably best Salamoni no longer remained on the force.

Did Salamoni's actions get to that result? Nope
You all are still pretending that a.) this body cam didn't come out b.) the use of force expert said Salamoni fricked up

Sterling camp presser at 6:30.
Don’t need to hear anything they have to say
I’d bet a years salary if things happened differently that night & Sterling went to jail not a single one of them would have bailed him out
He is nothing but a pay day to them

Regardless of his criminal background I just can’t understand going balls out on this guy per the cam video.

No, but it sure has better optics if you kill a guy that draws on you.

Cop don't know for sure about any call, until they get there. Someone suspected of a brandishing a gun?
Yes, let's put hands on him and force the situation. Stupid.
