My grandma would threaten to send me and my cousins to the Bad Boy's Home when we acted up. I guess she meant Stanislaus? Not sure. But the Bad Boy's Home sounds like a horrible place to be sent.

Yes, it was a hard four years!

It is also something that those who are not Men of Character will never understand or value.

I would not have traded it for anything. I am also someone who would not be the man I am today without the experience.

No, I was not a delinquent nor were 90% of the rest of the boarders.

As far as standing on the wall, you will never understand how awesome a dorm room bed will feel after standing a few inches from a cinder block wall for an hour. Or, how bad a cinder block wall can hurt your forehead if you make the mistake of leaning against it and get caught.

At least when I was there the worst part was the phones and everyone fighting to get their calls in to their girls back home after school, between study hall, and before lights out. Some not so much after school. They spent that time with their local girls!

Had family in MS and LA that went there back in the age of rail. Turned out pretty well. Kids need disciple but with care, they mature to strong and caring adults.

When were you there? Had a cousin that was supposed to go but seems weather damaged it out in maybe the late 60's or early 70's and they wound up at that Jesuit school in Saint Louis.

Yep, that was the threat that always got us acting right. Drove by the other day.

St. Stanislaus threats were later and almost did become reality.

The name scared me too. It was the last resort after threatening to send me to Catholic High where the Brothers would beat the crap out of me. What i didn't know about St. Stanislaus then, and more than likely my parents either, was that the school is across the street from the beach. I should have gone there. Can't be that bad, after all LSU QB Myles Brennan graduated from there.

All the Stanislaus kids I knew were punks. Used to get their shite kicked in on the reg when they'd venture over to Long Beach or Gulfport.

I dated a girl from OLA in high school, so I was over there in the Bay quite a bit as a junior & senior and ran into a few of these types from Stanislaus. The locals were easily dealt with but you didn’t mess with the New Orleans kids. Total wildcards.
