My pops would tell me If I didn't straighten my arse up he would send me there. As a kid in 2nd/3rd grade this scared me shitless.

My parents would threaten to send me to Hope Haven. Those who grew up on the Westbank in Jefferson Parish will remember that place.

After some of the shite that’s come out about that place it seems it really was a horror story.
Pretty much everyone I know who got ‘sent to Stanislaus’ ended up loving the experience.

Spent my freshmen year of highschool boarding there. It's just a normal school with a rougher crowd of "boarders" that don't get along with the day students.
You spend a lot of time standing against walls for breaking rules, smoking off campus, and fighting local kids.

All the Stanislaus kids I knew were punks. Used to get their shite kicked in on the reg when they'd venture over to Long Beach or Gulfport.

My friend went there, he lived in Pass Christian and was a day student. Said it wasn’t bad but the boarders were definitely shite heads.

I always felt sorry for the normal coast kids that had to go to school with the misfits that were shipped in.
