Seems like the newer built stores are fine, but the remodeled ones(ie Drusilla) suck. Drusillas is terrible.

They drove the LeBlanc's stores they bought into the ground. Huge downgrade. I hate Rouses now.

Honestly the only Rouses that are decently run in the Baton Rouge area is the one on Lee @ Burbank and the one on Airline @ Antioch. All the others are horrible.

The one in Denham Springs might be okay but I don't go out that way.

They are great when they first open then go to shite when they move the crew to another opening.

Used to be good when it was LeBlanc's. Before that it was Hi Nabor, which was decent. Both were better than what Rouses has now.

It's like they are geared for a totally different demographic.

Rouses caters to the area all stores aren’t created equal. Go to one in a nicer part of town and it’s night and day on the selection and quality

Honestly zip code isn't really a good correlation anymore.

Some Rouses right near the wealthiest neighborhoods in Baton Rouge absolutely suck. Every one of those 3-4 AG stores they bought were way better before Rouses took over.

No competition for Alexanders, Matherne's, or even Calandro's. Most of the Albertson's are better run in the Baton Rouge market now. And of course Whole Foods stomps it too.

Airline is always out of the crap I need. Seems well stocked on everything else though. It’s like they don’t stock up on the seasonal stuff. It’s crawfish season. Have a ton of that type stuff.

The new smaller stores are okay. We need Schwegmann’s to make a come back. I want to get my shoes re-soled while I browse an extensive wine selection.

Meh, the Rouses downtown in the warehouse district is probably the best Rouses store in the state.

What I've seen is if Rouses built the store themselves then it tends to be nice. If they took over a leblancs etc. then it tends to be shite...

Exactly.. They took over the Winn Dixie in Ponchatoula and its garbage. They built a new one on Juban in Denham Springs and its great.

I agree, though Rouses has never been great. They bought the Leblanc’s Fresh Market on Airline Hwy in Prairieville and immediately the quality of the store went downhill.

But every rouses kind of has that low budget ghettoish kind of feel to it.

Go to the Rouses in Denham and you'll see the day and night difference.

ghetto people is my guess at their preferred clientele. Everything about their stores just seems very dollar gentralish.

Any independent stores out there?

If I lived around there, I'd shop at either the Albertson's on Airline at Highland...or the Alexander's on Perkins at Highland.

In general, any market bought by Rouse’s is shite compared to any they built themselves.
