Rouse's took over the New Orleans area Sav-A-Center's post Katrina, and instantly made those stores better. Greater variety, and they carried Rouse's brand items that were just as good as name brand.

Now, every time I go to a Rouse's they never have what I'm looking for. Lemon Iced Tea Crystal Light? Nope. The Dole Ceasar Salad kits I like so much? Sorry, can't help you. Jambalaya Girl jambalaya kit because I have a craving for Jambalaya and don't feel like making it from scratch? No, but we do have 100 boxes of the Yellow Rice mix with Turmeric that nobody wants. And the meat selection is just abysmal.

Walking down the aisles, there are huge holes where product used to be.

Going to check out, the lines are down the aisles because only 2 registers are open on a Saturday afternoon.

I thought maybe it was supply chain/employee issues from covid, but Zuppardos and Breaux Mart don't seem to have these same problems.

The Leblanc’s in Pville was the shite back in ‘05 before Katrina refugees flooded the area.

Have you tried the Jambalaya Girl stuff? It's heaven in a box.

There's a couple of rouses that are "nice" but there's a lot that are shite.

The remodel of the Metairie airline location was a massive downgrade.

Must be localized cause the Rouses I go to around BR are great. Expensive, but great.

The Rouses stores in Baton Rouge suck, too

The Rouses on the east side of Houma is better stocked than any of the ones in BR

We have 2 new ones in our area and they’re top notch. Probably nicest option in town. The new Krogers are nice too. Most grocery stores just get dated and never take the time to update and clean out so I get what you’re say. We have some stores like Albertsons that used to be nice but are now dated.

Rouses caters to the area all stores aren’t created equal. Go to one in a nicer part of town and it’s night and day on the selection and quality

Every time I've run to Rouse's for something, they've not had it. Zuppardos, Breaux Mart, or Dorignacs have all had what I'm looking for when I go to one of them instead. Rouse's is more convenient for me to get to, but its now become a waste of time.

This isn’t Rouses specific. There are still massive supply chain and labor shortage problems in this country.

Perhaps. But I haven't noticed large gaps on the shelves where product used to be in other supermarkets.

This isn't true. The two stores in closest proximity to some of the wealthiest zip codes in Louisiana are both crap.

Rouses varies a lot by locations.
The one I go to in Metairie seems to always be short on cashiers and everyone looks miserable that works there.

Every time I buy fresh fruit, inevitably it spoils quickly or is filled with hidden mold. Strawberries, especially. I’ve stopped getting fruits/vegetables there.

If any of you feel like driving up to Picayune, Rouses Representative Peter Roy will be there today at 5pm. He's suppose to address the Picayune City Council board regarding the new Picayune grocery store’s status. He supposedly will take questions from the public.
