I agree but I feel like they are putting them in places just to do it now. Some are so small that the cars approaching ahead and on the right are basically on your left. Takes 2 seconds to circle the whole thing.

I don’t mind small ones - better than a stop sign.

The problem with a roundabout is that in and around the lake, mountains come out of the sky and they stand there.

We just had three put in near me at the interstate exit about a year ago. Several neighborhood and town/county Facebook groups have been bitching about them. They were 100% needed, and yes they are easy to navigate. Traffic flows much more smoothly.

My daughter had a fender bender at one off the intersections a few years before the roundabouts. It’s a heavy traffic commuter exit for for folks going into Birmingham to work and back as well as school traffic.

Also, just because it’s awesome:

Edit: Oops, sorry, didn’t see Yes already posted.

Saw one in Rome that I swear had 6 cars across, with zero “lanes” designated.

In defense of the good people of Thibodaux. . . There is a roundabout on the Nicholls campus. It only has one lane, rather 2 - one for turning and one for going straight - like most other roundabouts. What is the point of that?

Are there any other roundabouts in Thibby?

It's crazy how mad traffic circles make boomers.

frick yes. Common sense and rarely do people use blinkers when exiting the roundabout.

And you're getting down voted for it because this board is retarded.

We have one near us with a center piece made of brick/grass, every other week the bricks are scattered all over and grass torn to shite.

The Rond Point des Champs Elysees in Paris is huge and I don’t remember any markings on it for lanes.

Iirc, auto insurance will not cover you in that one.

It’s bump and grind - no fault driving.

Crazy stuff.

Honestly it’s because they are ignorant.

They’ve never learned how to drive it.

I live in Bend Oregon.

The entire town is controlled by roundabouts.

It really keeps traffic moving, if people use it correctly.

The key to the roundabout is signaling when you want to EXIT the roundabout.

It’s the only way the next person entering can get into the roundabout with flow.

In south LA, I think all of the cars I saw had their turn signal fuses deleted or something like that.

Roundabouts work better in Oregon because drivers and turn signals.

Few things make you feel more like a man than the perfect execution of a roundabout entrance and exit.

Nah, I can judge based on the motion and speed of the car in the roundabout.

People misuse them here in Katy, but not nearly at the same rate as it sounds like in Thibodaux. Our biggest problem, particularly when school lets out, is the anxious drivers that do not enter the roundabout if they see any car, in any lane, backing up traffic for 20-30 cars (Texas Heritage and Jordan Crossing Northbound.)

But compared to the hell of stoplights on roads like 1463, I'm taking roundabouts every last time.

No! The downvotes are because this is a very bad idea.

It's so simple
If you are entering the circle you DO NOT have the right of way and must yield.
If you are in the circle you have the right of way and for the love of god DO NOT yield just exit the circle

Most of them are, except the one in Carencro off of Hector Connely by the SuperOne and Walmart. I hated that thing.
