Mine barely gets stuck under the back of my couch. I cut some 1x2 and screwed it to the frame underneath. Problem solved

We have bobi. It's awesome. The damn thing seems to pick up tons of dirt/hair/dust no matter how much you run it.

Bobi will also mop up spills, and has an option to make it just concentrate on one smaller area to try and get a stubborn mess up.

Eta:I just saw you said inexpensive. Bobi is kinda pricey

I also have the XV-21. Best money I've ever spent. I have no carpet at all. Tile and wood. I put the magnetic strips down where I don't want it to go. It doesn't miss an inch of floor space. Love the "Spot Clean" function on it too

How's the Neato XV-21 on edging? I see it doesn't have the spinning brush like the Roomba's and Bobi's. That feature with it just charging itself repeatedly would save me from splitting my bottom level.

My house has a sunken living room (couple steps down) and a FROG room as well. I'm guessing these things don't do well with stairs.

They won't go overboard, but no, they won't clean them either.

My D80 has a brush that spins around on the right side and will get flush with everything

It follows the wall closely. More son than the roomba. But it doesn't have the spinning brush. I've not noticed issues with it. Whereas the roombas spinning brush would throw dog hair clumps out of the way of the roomba and it would miss them, defeating the purpose

Purchased Neato D-80 last month after researching. It has been awesome. I have a Blue Heeler that sheds like crazy. I run the neato every other day and it picks up all the hair.

I have a Neato botvac 80 and recommend getting this one. Also get an extended warranty as it will definitely break. If you go into it expecting this like I did you're good to go. Had the 80 for 8 month or so and one of the bump sensors quit working. Shipped the 80 off last week and they're sending me the D80 since I don't think they make the 80 anymore. So if you can scoop up a regular 80, keep it till it breaks, then get a free upgrade with warranty. Again, get an extended warranty.

The vacuums are phenomenal! We run ours daily and it's incredible the amount of stuff it picks up.

I hate that stupid thing. Beat's the heck out of the floorboards and just overall sucks!

It'll clean wherever you allow it to clean. Does my whole house (1200sqft) in about an hour, but I have a lot of obstacles. If it runs out of battery in that time, it'll go back and charge itself before resuming.

Pretty solid technology in that thing. I just sat there and watched it for the first week or so

any issues with transition strips? I have a section of floor that goes from wood to tile with a 2" wide T-strip. I've been worried a bot would not cross it.
