Certainteed Landmark and Landmark Max Def. It is actually a 50 year shingle now (still branded as the "Landmark 30" though).

The Landmark TL and Landmark Pro are a few steps up as far as weight but not worth the price increase IMO

Should be about $90/square

ETA: The Max Def Landmark is the same spec as original, just more color added to the scheme.

Idk if anybody even makes shitty shingles anymore.

Pay for the install. When you cut corners you end up with felted over ridge vents and missing flashing. Ask me how I know.

There is no right answer. Different factories produce wildly different products.

For example, in Texas GAF is a great shingle. In Alabama, it's shite.

I would go with Owens Corning or GAF. Atlas screwed people in the Southeast when they made the shitty Atlas Chalet shingles that lasted about 7 years and they wouldn't stand behind the warranty. Certainteed Patriot shingles were changed so much after 5-6 years it's impossible to match repairs on a 30 year roof. Whatever you buy get a few extra bundles to save for possible repairs down the road.

As the person getting a new roof compliments of Irma, we had atlas chalet and have to get s new roof. We will probably join the class action suit as well. Our new roof is Owens Corning.

Read the paper that wraps around the shingles. So many roofers cut corners: specifically how they end a run at the edge of the roof. How they work over the ridge vent. How they protect the valleys under the shingles. How they flash the areas around chimneys, up against wood or brick.

Ask to talk to someone whose house they roofed two years ago.

Rohypnol to treat Shingles?

Never heard of that.

Second opinion.
