Roof Rainwater Diversion Ideas

First off, I don't want to install gutters because I will probably be selling the house shortly. Anyway, I have an area sort of like this pic (minus the gutters) where water funnels and falls into my flower bed. It washes out the mulch and splatters dirt on the front on my house. Any ideas on ways to divert the water so it spreads out? Thanks.

This is your best bet unfortunately. If you try to slow down the water on the roof, it will seep under the drip edge and cause soffit rot.

I had that problem at my previous home as well. I knew I was selling soon so I didn't want to pay for gutters. I ended up putting a bird bath at the bottom so it still splashed water all over the bricks but at least there wasn't any mud being splattered all over the house and the mulch stayed put.

put something where the waters falls down on, or get gutters.
A bird bath, a big rock somethign to absorb the fall of the water and spread it out.

Google the product Rainhandler. Disperses the stream and is sold in short pieces.

Extend the roof line to the yard....

Green Roof. The grass will slow the water flow down.

Just install gutters in that one section. Can’t be that expensive

This looks cool. Do you think it would work along the front approach of this house. As you can see a gutter would be unsightly because they would have to curve back in toward the columns but I think a single section directly over the front steps might work?

You could at least put gutters on the 2nd floor roof.
That will also help save your 1st floor roof.

Never even thought about that. I'll have to see how that will work out. Seems like a good reason to take a beer out on the roof and do a site survey.

That is interesting. I may look in to that.
