Bingo.

But at least be consistent. If you're not old enough at 18 to drink, be consistent.

Dont let them vote, drive, pay taxes, or change genders.

I don't recall a mass shooting at a high school before they changed the drinking age...I think we found the problem.

Personally, I'd be on board with raising the voting age to 21. At age 18, you're either still in high school, or a freshman in college. Kids these age don't have a clue about politics or what's important. They're either voting for whomever their parents say, or they'll just go opposite of their parents if still in their rebel stage.
So 21 to drink
21 to vote

You sticking with 18 for the rest?
Military
Marriage
Firearms

Seems logical. Lmao.

I’m not sure how it works now because I’m way past that, but there was a time when a patron was required to be 21 get into a gentleman’s club that served alcohol, but the dancers only had to be 18.

Most ridiculous and hypocritical shite ever.

It’s interesting how people pick and choose what constitutes adulthood and easily bend.

would love to see a breakdown in the ages of people who get DWI's...also, people under 21 are still drinking as much as they want.

when drinking age changed from 18-21 i ended up drinking more before leaving to go out, then riding my buzz/sneaking a drink once inside. So instead of just a risk when driving home, there was a rick driving to the bar.....

This was one of the worst things Reagan ever did because it was a complete departure from his general support for federalism. A dreadful federal overreach that was unfortunately upheld by the Supreme Court.

Notice that I did not say a thing about the drinking age but neither should a federal government of "limited powers."

Same here. Turned 18 Aug 6th, the law changed on Aug 15th, 1995. I have a brother 3 years older than me and I did most of my drinking with him anyway so I never had a problem getting alcohol.

Almost exactly the same for me, except I turned 18 in October.

It kept a lot of kids from drinking in a bar.

And forced them into cars, riding around drinking the whole time. Instead people driving a mile or two from the bar to their house while drunk people spent HOURS riding around drunk.

I’m too lazy to look up stats but I’m pretty sure 18-21 drinking age didn’t curb drunk driving. Just like the war on drugs is a losing battle.

Call me crazy but I think you should have to pass a competency test to be allowed to vote and re-test when renewing your driver's license as well.

Concerning MADD having too much power. Didn’t George Carlin do a thing on DAMM, Drunks Against Mad Mothers?

*was, genius.

But the correct answers are Lyndon Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Joe Biden, W, Barack, Nixon, Clinton, HW.

Trump would be lumped in there, but at least he didn’t start any new wars and as Chappelle put it “he’s an honest liar”.

Regarding drinking and driving:

A lot of people are poor decision makers even when they're stone-sober. Drinking doesn't improve that.

It's the same thing as usual. The competent, normal people suffer because some idiot can barely function under the best of circumstances.
