Well I can guarantee you one thing, unless they are going to indefinitely postpone a day of jazzfest, this particular date is cancelled.

I'm sure ticket prices will be lowered.

But that’s with the entire Fest open. On Rolling Stones day all stages were going to shut down at 4pm except the Acura stage. I can’t imagine they sold 160,000 tickets. If I had to listen standing around the Gentilly stage I’d be pissed.

, a single day max attendance is 160,000 at jazz fest

The stones day sold out at an elevated ticket price of $200 per ticket

So this is $32,000,000 they are going to have to refund

Even if they just go to the normal ticket price of $85 for that day and still sell out that’s an $18,500,000 loss

The stones day had limited tickets. They were the only band playing after 4 so all people would go to that stage so they may have sold 50 to 60 thousand tickets

Now the issue will be will the organizers be able to fill all those empty stages with decent acts. Or will they announce some other big headliner

A large part of that was The Rolling Stones take from the ticket sales, so the math is not as simple as a loss. There was a huge expense of having The Rolling Stones. They will lower the ticket cost to cover their margins and won’t have the expense of the Stones anymore.

With that said, this is a complete failure. they were price gouging for the Stones and now to lose them this close is a giant clusterfrick.

Warrant and Winger are playing Gonzales soon. Maybe Quint can get them to fill the void. Baws would be rocking out with the Down Boys.

I don’t see how people enjoy Jimmy Buffet as an entertainer or as a person in general.

Price gouging? Nobody needs to pay $200 to see that boring shite.
