Panerai 44mm and 47mm watches
My next purchase is a Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Chrono Flyback.

Had a sub and now have the planet ocean with the orange ring. I like a nice watch that is not a Rolex. I don’t know why.

This one? I am undecided on if I like it. Need an Omega and its one that is on my list. Plan on trying it on next weekend in Vegas.

I like most all of the Bathy models, particularly the ceramic cased blue one.

Maybe I'm just a "frick boy", but you can't go wrong with a submariner.

Most of the orange POs you see are the older one like this
The only negative is they don't have a ceramic bezel (VERY hard to do in orange and they actually did a platinum PO with orange bezels they made trying to make them viable).
My opinion is still out on the newest ones with the rubber in the bezel (the orange in the PO Chrono you posted). The feedback from owners seems to be OK at this point.

Wonder if it will age poorly?

Rolex is a classic. Get the Rolex, screw the haters. They are just jealous.

$8-10K for that rolex?
DAMN I had some friends with them in college, didn't know they were that high.

That is the $64K question, of course, Omega will just point out it would be replaced when it is serviced if it wears.
However, many people eschewed ceramic bezels due to the fear of shattering, they have proved pretty robust. The bigger fears is ceramic cases, I have a Panerai Radiomer in ceramic and have no issues but IWCs, in particular, have seen failures at the lugs and it ain't cheap to fix.
If I was in the market I would chance the rubber insert bezel BUT I don't wear each watch 7/365 like many people do. People like you with multiple watches can get away with less robust watches and still wear them for many years due to rotating watches.

Sub every day.
I wear my grandfather’s two tone sub - blue face with gold inner band.

While I would never argue that a Rolex or any other mid or high-end watch is a good value for keeping time (they are Veblen goods after all) the benefit of Patek, Rolex and to a lesser degree Panerai is after a few years you can sell them for more than you paid. MOST won't return near what even Dow index fund would but it does take the pain out of owning them. My entire collection was paid for by buying and selling watches over the last 25+ years, mostly by buying a lot of vintage Rolex Daytonas back when they were cheap.
The question is though will people even wear analog/mechanical watches in 20 years, will it be the 8 track or vinyl of men's arm jewelry?

Do you really see any difference between those two and this one?
Would you reach into the live bait tank for a shrimp with a Rolex on?

That's part of my thinking as well. Obviously with the color on that one it wouldn't be an everyday wear. It's more sporty which is why I like it because I need to add something like that to my collection.

I have dived with every single one of my dive watches, including some that technically aren't dive watches like the Aquanaut and Nautilus. I will admit to re-siliconing the o-rings and pressure testing some of the more dear ones first though.
Rolex sports watches are far from shrinking violets.

You must really like watches or have run out of things to spend money on
