Only a VERY wealthy person should own a $5,000+ watch. They need one to fit in with the other VERY wealthy guys that they interact with and do business with.
Someone that is not VERY wealthy and allocates $5000+ to something that tells them what time it is and could spend the money more wisely is an a-hole.

Same could be said for anyone who allocate money poorly - cough *truck payments* cough
Honestly most people I know with nice swiss watches got them as heirlooms or gifts.

I got mine from my Dad's military buddy. Said something about carrying it around in his arse for two years.

I prefer the look of the bracelet on the Submariner but the Seamaster bracelet is very comfortable.

I chose Omega. For the price of the Sub, I was able to purchase the Seamaster and the Speedy Pro.

I like the smaller profile of the rolex

I prefer my Fifty to the Submariner and love the sapphire bezel but some people don't like the distorted look at the edges of the bezel and crystal.
That reminds me about the OPs question the one negative (IMO) of the Rolex sports watches is the lack of AR coating. The Omega has double AR and can be viewed at very high angles where at a certain point the Rolex crystal will turn into a mirror. The negative with double AR is it outside AR can scratch (though Omegas current AR is very tough). Something to think about on a everyday watch.
The Sea Dweller Deep Sea is a chunk of a watch it is 44mm and very thick, I do like mine but I wear Panerai 44mm and 47mm watches so it doesn't bug me. It does have the absolute best bracelet of any sport watch and while it looks like it would wear top heavy since there is an extreme taper it really doesn't. I think the newest Sea Dweller is perfect at 42mm but I don't like they added the Cyclops. The DSSD is still sans cyclops.

Rolex 100 times out of 100. Not a legit question.
