It’s the JDD.....in parenthesis the automatic JSAR

when I got it years ago they advertised it as the JSAR auto.

While I agree it's listed as a Auto JSAR, it has a different face, hands, and lume froom the JSAR.

It looks like a large TSAR to me.

Given all the discussion of replicas (fakes!) in this thread, where do you go to buy a $5k watch that isn't an AD? How do I discern what is what between online sellers?

CSB warning. Was at a bachelor party last year in Vegas for an out of state friend. I only knew a couple of guys there besides the groom. One of the guys I didn't know asks me about my Mont Blanc watch and we talk watches for a bit. A day later we are walking by a store in the Caesar's mall and he casually asks if I want to check out a couple of watches. We walk in and he trys on a Rolex Yachtmaster. I am bullshitting with the sales guy and after about 15 seconds he announces: I will take it. Not sure who was more surprised - me or the sales guy. He whips out three credit cards and tells the sales guy to split it up between them "so his wife won't notice" and then gives the guy an address to ship the watch back in Dallas to avoid taxes. Turned out he is some big-time neuro surgeon with mega dollars. I am still laughing that the guy, who apparently earns millions, has to hide the purchase from his wife.

Yea, would have been pretty cool if it was the Everose version, but it's easier to give away a 12k watch, than a 25k watch

ETA: obviously cool either way

Love my Speedy Pro, but would gladly trade it for a Submariner 14060, 16610, 114060, or 116610 if I could

Obtuse, have you been keeping up with any of the old Tudor Submariner prices. This watch could have been bought for about $4500 just five years ago.

Ebay

There are about half a dozen trusted sellers that post watches for sale on the rolexforums.com classifieds. Some such as DavidSW and takuya have their own webpages as well. I have dealt with sohais on a few transactions with no problems. To these guys their reputation is everything.

Just picked up a new piece today. Didn't plan on it but it's a limited edition and I got a decent deal on it. Mine is #69 of 250 made.

I never saw the reason for having an expensive watch and stopped wearing one entirely a few years ago but I've gotten a hankering for a Rolex lately.

I have a Datejust and two AirKings but I don’t think I’ll be satisfied until I have a vintage Seamaster.

If I get one I'll probably get a plain Explorer with in stainless steel. The ones in gold/platinum with different color faces look like something a rapper would wear.

A nice Movado and 12,000 to spend on something besides a watch.
