I imagine stone cold, nut far right people will celebrate his death.

This country is so brainwashed in politics we have to figure out if someone is on the left or the right to decide whether to mourn or cheer. It's very sad times we live in.

Can’t imagine how Mel Brooks is feeling. Beat friends with Carl Reiner and ate dinner with him every night for decades. Lived long enough to see his friend die and his friend’s son murdered by the grandson. Living to 100 isn’t always the greatest thing.

Carl almost made it see this. He only died 5 years ago.

People have a tendency to react to that.

Most have shown restraint and genuine empathy.

That was one chaotic press conference. Cops refused to say it was a murder, refused to identify the victims and said "no" when asked if they are looking for a suspect.

So I'm not going to LIKE the post, or say what I really think about Meathead. But Archie was right the whole time.

I haven’t seen anybody on here celebrating his murder.

And anybody on here doing it, is doing it ironically.

That’s the difference between our side and yours. Prick.

His peak as a director was really incredible.

Spinal Tap

Princess Bride

When Harry Met Sally

Wildly impactful movies 40 years later.

Politics aside, the man had a tremendous career and had a memorable impact on Hollywood and movie fans. RIP to him and his wife.

Well said. He was a legend who left us with a great legacy of classic movies. Think about what guys like Farley, John Candy and Belushi could have done if they hadn’t died so young. I mean Farley made several classics in just the few years he was making movies.

I agree with you, and the fact that you didnt even mention Few Good Men or Stand By Me, two of the greatest movies in cinema history- speaks volumes… they were all bangers, every last one of them… im not sure anyone outside of Speilberg was as prolific as Reiner, both critically and commercially .

I won’t celebrate his death. Mostly because it perpetuates hate. But people like him are the very ones that created the current toxic culture of hate.

He was a creative genius and left a great legacy of his work.

But he was also a spiritually bankrupt narcissist who hated everyone who disagreed with him. His last two decades of life should have been a victory lap where he taught future generations of filmmakers how to capture wonderful storytelling.

Instead - He chose to obsess on politics and hatred. The world is better now that he is gone and his film work can live on (without his ranting rhetoric).

IMO this is why the United States needs another civil war.. or preferably, a peaceful division of territories .. or something similar, i am open to ideas .

Becuase i would say the world is better off without someone like Charlie Kirk.. not a perfect analogy, but you get the picture.. roughly half the country (give or take) would agree with me, and roughly half the country would agree with you… we could argue back and forth til the cows come home- but arent you tired ? I doubt id ever sway you and your half, just like i doubt you’d ever sway me and my half.. why waste our lives trying to debate ? Let’s just split the country somehow, some way and carry on the best we can .. may the best way ultimately win out, and have bragging rights .. i say all this in the spirit of peace- why waste our lives trying to chnage others ?

*(full disclosure: i currently live outside of the US.. but i still pay US taxes and am a citizen with a US passport .. and the people i love still live in the US)

I don’t know you so I am just guessing about how you think based on your post.

I think the difference in you and I is wider than conservative vs liberal.

Read my post. I am complementing Rob in many ways. But I am criticizing him in others. I can see the good and the bad in all men.

People like Rob (and probably you) are much different. You genuinely hate others for nothing more than their opinions. I imagine you find it hard to see the great things in those you disagree with. You want them silenced (by media, by “splitting the country”, or even death) so you don’t have to hear debate and question your own conclusions.

Charlie Kirk was different. He wanted to talk and debate. To find common ground and change the way we all view things.

Again, I don’t know you and you don’t know me. But if you are aligning me with a guy like Kirk - thank you for the compliment.
