Pharmacy companies have changed as much as banks.
I remember being in K&B on College buying bag of Zapps and the guy behind me said I'm Ron Zapp and thanks for buying my chips. Saw him a year or so later and he remembered me and asked how were the chips? K&B and a lot of stores on College have long since closed.

They said that about the fast food wars as well ... that only Taco Bell would be left standing. But look around now.

All I see anymore are CVS and Walgreens.

And they all suck. Locally owned pharmacy is the best. In Houston those don't really exist. Kroger has been good and HEB is good too. I'll never use CVS or Walgreens again unless I have absolutely zero choice.

Ok... but CVS is actively buying up grocery store pharmacies and ruining the industry as we speak.

Rite Aid, CVS, and Walgreens bought up all the local and mom/pop drug stores, or effectively put them out of business. Now all 3 are closing hundreds of stores nationwide, with CVS announcing their closing 700. I've used a local drug store for the last several years, staying away from Walgreens/CVS. It's well worth shopping local, even with prescriptions.

Bring back K&B!!!!

Oh and their ice cream too!

Rite Aid bought them out and took a store with great service and local culture and turned it into a dump.

These abandoned buildings will sure make an area nice. Dollar stores about to change up their layouts.

I'm really surprised someone hasn't tried to buy back the IP and make a run of it.

Rite Aid didn't write prescriptions and they were obligated to fill them

Pharmacies aren't obligated to fill a prescription there are a myriad of reasons why they can refuse.

Their issue is they are accused of filling unlawful prescriptions and doing things like deleting internal memos regarding suspicious prescribers. When you actively turn your head from clear pill-mill activity when you have a legal obligation not to then you are going to have a bad day.
