RIP Bill.

Actually had a couple of his classes at LSU back in the day.

He taught broadcast production. Great guy.

I grew up with him.

In my wonder years, Baton Rouge was a very different place then.

RIP Bill.

Damn. Huge part of my childhood. Cub Scout troop on the show, all that stuff. Popeye cartoons and little rascals were my favorites and senor puppet. IIRC he and his wife lived over near Sherwood Middle in my youth. Near my hood. Baton Rouge back then as a kid everywhere you could get on a bike was "your" hood.

He was a good man. Rest in Peace Buckskin Bill

My childhood would not have been complete without my daily dose of the Buckskin Bill show and of course, a smile.

I already took karate...it left a bad taste in my mouth.

But me and my karate mates appeared on the show and did The Monday Morning March.

RIP Buckskin Bill! A big part of my early childhood memories were the Monday Morning March, Senior Puppet, etc. I even did the Penny March with the Cub Scouts to drop pennies off to buy Penny the elephant for the zoo. I actually ran into him at DFW Airport between flights and bought him a beer about 20 years ago. Had a great conversation with him and he was just a genuine person who loved Baton Rouge. Anyone who watched his show as a kid was definitely blessed to have been a kid at that time. RIP sir!

I met him one year in Lafayette at Christmas Comes Alive. I had to wear a sweaty E.T. costume all night.

But meeting Buckskin Bill made it all worth it.

We already established we worked there around the same time. The few times I waited on him it was usually a lunch shift.

I know. I remember exactly who you are. I was just saying that I don’t remember him coming in, but again, I don’t think I would have recognized him. I don’t guess I was as big a Buckskin Bill fan as a lot of kids my age.

My brother and I used to Monday morning march our asses off around the coffee table.

RIP, Buckskin Bill.
