I always think about Buckskin Bill whenever I hear Roger Miller's "Kansas City Star."

Kansas City Star,
that's what I are.
It's a kiddie show
and I'm a hero
with the younger folks.

One of the biggest rumors when I was a kid was that Buckskin Bill also played the part of Ronald McDonald.

He was, too!!

I know the guy who actually posses the actual puppet.

I have one. He gave me one for having the biggest smile and curliest hair in my Cub Scout Group. I still have it somewhere. I also did the Penny walk a dozen times.

I went fishing with Buckskin Bill back in the late 80's.
I lost one of his fishing poles off the dock. He was super cool about it.

Guess what his favorite fish was........Gaftopsail Catfish. I caught a 4-5 pounder and he went nuts over it. Cleaned it and fried it on the spot. Walked around making everyone taste it. It was damned good too.

He was a good man.

Anyone remember him showing Flash Gordon? Those shows I'd love to see again. The laser guns and the laser walk ways were terrific.

I did the elephant walk for pennies to. He was a good guy. RIP

I was on his show and sat in his lap and did the Monday Morning March with him when I was 4 years old.

I was always home in time for Flash Gordon, and it seems like every kid in BR was on the show at one time or another. I recently asked about him and found out he was very much alive which was a happy surprise to me. RIP my old friend.
