I would listen to Brewers games on the internet just to hear his home run call...

There it goes! Get Up! Get Out! GONNNNNNNE!

He was very easy to listen to on the radio

He's probably having a cold one with Tip O'Neill right now.

"My first minor league contract was for 1700 bucks. This really upset my dad, cause he didn't have that kind of money."

RIP Uke.

Harry: (reading the stat lines for the game) "One hit, that's all we got? One Goddamn hit?"

Assistant: "You can't say Goddamn on the air."

Harry: "Don't worry, nobody is listening anyway."

If y'all have not seen it, 'Mr. Baseball: A Life in the Front Row' is an excellent documentary about him.

I'll be completely honest, I didn't realize he was still alive. I suppose as a famous older person in the twilight of your life, that's probably a good thing.

he has a string of great self-deprecating quotes about his own baseball career and success

"When I came up to bat with three men on and two outs in the ninth, I looked in the other team's dugout and they were already in street clothes."

"In 1962 I was named Minor League Player of the Year. It was my second season in the bigs."

"I knew when my career was over. In 1965 my baseball card came out with no picture."

"I had a great shoe contract and glove contract with a company who paid me a lot of money never to be seen using their stuff."

"I led the league in go get 'em next time."

Once during batting practice he borrowed a sousaphone from the band and was in the outfield shagging fly balls with it. Had to pay the cost of repairs afterwards.

I read his book, “Catcher In The Wry” when I was a teenager.

I seriously lol’d while reading.
