Oh yeah when I rode I would aim for people that were drinking. The St Patrick's parades you really throw some heavy shite too.

I still do. But they are trying to stop that. Just like Zulu can't throw coconuts anymore just hand them. .. but I'm always in the back so I won't get a coconut tomorrow

If you are at a parade you should expect to get hit with shite. The amount of people who go to parades and then get mad when they get hit is astonishing

This has always been my thinking.

I did have to alter my thinking a little bit, yesterday. Every year, some arse or a few of them in the crowd will throw at the riders on the float.

In past, I would try and find the person and return the favor, but had to just take the pack of beads that hit my in the neck yesterday and not do anything or risk having the whole float removed.

Throwing beads us expected and normal and you have to throw them hard. But throwing bags of beads at people is a no no now.

Yeah for sure, but there was guys on that particular float cocking back to throw at people right up on the street that I saw. One bag of beads barely missed one of the girls we were with and knocked over a fold up chair, it's why I remember it so vividly.

I was there watching right before and when they did it. The crowds were starting to get heavier and they were just throwing. I seriously doubt they were really paying attention at whom they were throwing.

I've on a float before in Bacchus and can tell you. You cannot pay attention to whom you are throwing. I seriously doubt Thoth guys would have a beef with cops. As I said earlier, the membership and officers are not exactly woke snowflake types. Liberal is probably not a term that the membership would embrace politically.

Thankfully it was moving pretty fast at the time but I genuinely was worried about if a kid on a ladder wasn’t paying attention.

I completely forgot that New Orleans “people” do this. Absolute neighborcattle behavior. Just put your kid on your shoulders like a normal dad.

Don’t hold a sign insulting someone….and if you do don’t hold it in front of your face.

I guess you were the bitch I hit in the face. Hope you liked the onion.

I’ve thrown stuff towards people who were looking right at me just for them to turn last second and get hit.

Ban the entire float krewe. Actions have consequences.

I don't get this mentality. Even though the story isn't how it was initially reported, if it was that way then punish the people who did the act. I support that.

But why punish every else for the actions of a couple of morons?

If you were on that float and some drunk dickhead on the opposite side of you did something stupid and illegal without your knowledge, should you also be punished?

Thoth Captain Penny Larsen told riders that NOPD found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing, no officer witnessed the alleged incident and no action would be taken against the float.

Ok, the the NOPD screwed up. They should cover all the expenses of every member on that float for this year.

So. No action taken. But those guys paid their dues and spent hundreds maybe thousands on throws and got taken off?
That's sad. I would be pissed if I were on that float.
