Fairly certain that a large part of credit card debt is from dining out.
Probably so. That’s crazy to go into debt for something that you only rent.
I use my CC for just about everything but I pay it off every cycle.

So stupid. Just raise your menu prices.

Dave's hot chicken had a tip selection on their terminal at the order counter. It went from 15 to 22 percent. Also had the no tip option. That was an easy choice to make.

Wanting to increase the wage for menial jobs and voting for a guy that said he promises to end fossil fuels.
The cost of every fricking thing is going up. The food costs are skyrocketing and if you are in a place like Louisiana, they are calling to almost double the wage of your damn fry cook.
IDK what some of these places are going to do. If you just take a huge hike in menu prices, you will lose customers that way too.
There is nothing they can do that wont piss some people off. Some will try to sneak it in with these fees and what not.

I ordered a Chick-fil-A grilled chicken club. Just the sandwich and nothing else. $9.29 with tax.
I did the exact same thing. Even had the cashier double-check that. Yep. $9.29. NEVER again.

It's a decent sandwich for fast food and not totally awful for me. I order one through the app maybe once every few months because you can just walk in and out. But I don't think it's worth almost $10.

22% gfy. My wife and I have come to the realization that we cook better than most places. And when we go out it is more upscale. If a place pit that service charge on my bill I would leave a zero tip, then tell the server why and that they need to collect from the owner.

McDonald’s prices are over $10 for a combo meal in most large cities. For freaking McDonald’s

I'd rather a restaurant cut portion size by 20% than charge me an extra 20% on the bill. I rarely eat an entire plate of food when dining out anyway.
Agree, it's ridiculous how large some of these portions are. Might have benefit of helping with obesity problem.

I don't travel for business anymore, I live in a place that really doesn't have great fine dining options, but mostly because the experience fricking sucks relative to pre-Covid. Skeleton menus, shitty service, deteriorating facilities, etc. It's just not worth the money. I also have two teenaged daughters who bitch about everything, so that is part of it too.
I've absolutely stopped eating out bc of all the price increases and, more importantly, cuts to food quality.

When we visit our son in Australia it’s understood that tipping is included in the menu prices
Servers in Australia probably make more than $2.13/hr also

If the charge isn’t disclosed on the menu, you don’t have to pay it.
Posted on 5/16/23 at 6:46 pm to Prisms
If I see that, I’m considering it my tip.

There’s a place over in Tuscaloosa, SoCal Tacos, that adds an 18% service charge to every bill and they don’t tell you anything about it nor is there signage. It’s in small print at the bottom of the receipt like they’re trying to get you to tip on top of the service charge.
I normally tip 20%+ so I just zero out any additional tip and save a few bucks by sticking with their 18%.

Always wondered if the “delivery fee” from garbage Jimmy John’s goes to the driver or not.
I always end up tipping regular though.

Just put the price on the menu. If I don't want to pay that much, just let me leave.
