More than once when our kids were acting like pinheads in a restaurant we sat their asses in the car until we finished eating inside. Now, the same shitty women who allow their kids to act like savages in public would call DCF on you if you did this.

You want a pass on leaving you kids in a car while you eat in a restaurant?

Fine by me.

Like most things, this is all about choices. When our oldest was between 3-4+ he just couldn't sit still in a restaurant. We'd never let him run around, but he just couldn't handle sitting around waiting for food, etc. After a couple of times driving us insane, we simply stopped going for a year+ until he could. Sucked we couldn't go out with him, but it was what it was.

Our inability to get him to sit still was not other peoples'' issue to deal with, so we just stopped going. They didn't need to sacrifice THEIR good time for us to be there.

It’s like babies crying on an airplane. The internet has made the problem seem way worse than it actually is

A baby crying on a plane is not like a 2 year old throwing a fit in a restaurant.

On more than one occasion, my wife and I had to pack up and leave restaurants. Kid would lose her shite, wife got up and went to car with kid, I got food to go. Oh and my kid was never babysat by tech when out to dinner.

Some of the shite parents do is ridiculous. Putting food directly on a table with no covering. And even better, leaving the big fricking mess for the staff to clean up.
Yeah, our kid would drop food, make a mess, but we cleaned it up before we left.

It's shite tier parenting, but if it's not loud it shouldn't interrupt the dining experience of others.

I also will only take my kids out to eat somewhere it is traditionally loud, Mexican restaurant, buffalo wild wings, etc. If they have a patio, we request to sit outside. I'm cognizant that children are loud and I don't bring them to places where that would be an issue.

Same, I have a 2 year old. If we're bringing her to dinner we're either either at a casual Mexican or pizza spot, or we're dining outside. Our club restaurant has a park adjacent to it, so we usually just dine outside on the patio and let the kids play at the park.

So don't take them. If they're too young to behave, get a babysitter and leave them at home.

Good, if you don’t like it, don’t eat there.

You have no fricking idea what has gone on that day. I've spent many a day hiking with the kids on vacation. They're tired, hungry and cranky. Yes, they will sit there on their tablets quietly and wait for our food. Is that shite tier parenting?

Well, now you know not to dine at Toccoa Riverside Restaurant after hiking near Blue Ridge, GA.

Are you suggesting kids aren't able to sit in a locked car for less than a half hour?

Down by the river …and the parents weren’t there with their kids. Well then…

The reviews of this place look horrible without even taking into consideration the parenting fee.

Yeah, I don’t believe in giving my kid a screen in order to make them compliant. And yes, I am aware that giving them a screen is an “easy” way to accomplish that.

Most of those reviews are from the same people that have the bad kids and were charged that fee so I wouldn't put too much stock in those reviews.

That place makes a killing. They have really good food.

Another reviewer claims he was charged $50, even though his children were well behaved. “The owner came out and told me he was adding $50 to my bill because of my children’s behavior. My kids watched a tablet until the food arrived, ate their food and my wife took them outside while I waited and paid the bill.”

I'd absolutely dine and dash and tell the guy to frick off.

Users also criticized the other fees on the menu, like an 18% gratuity for separate checks and a $3 fee for sharing a plate.

Those are perfectly reasonable charges, especially for higher end places. Based on the menu items mentioned and the other context clues, I am guessing it is a decently nice establishment.

Kids can do a lot of things. Whether they should is a better question.
