Whether it be baby showers, football games, family gatherings etc?

I don't smoke in front of my kids, but the other thread got me thinking....

And yes I know there is no such thing as second hand drunk, but how could you do such an addictive, dangerous drug in front of young imppresionable minds?

I don't have kids but I'll give my thoughts. I know a lot of parents where 1 will drink and they other stay sober in case of emergencies. They also aren't getting sloppy drunk at a tball game; but that's how I intend to handle drinking when the day comes.

better question is how many drink and drive home w/ kids in the car from:

LSU games
Saints games
Mardi Gras

the number is probably higher than those that admit it

Most of them, including my parents when I was a kid. I'm fine, they're fine. No big deal IMO

What about the upper class parents who get shitfaced in front of their kids at every meal?

drinking socially and getting drunk are different things

do people smoke socially or in moderation?

It is one flaw, but many people were upset over the fact that it sets a bad example, not just the second hand smoke issue.

I'm clean and sober for almost half a century, baw. My kids drink around me - sometimes, not the other way around.

I would imagine the same people would feel the same about parents getting drunk in front of their kids

Better than them drinking in front of me.

When they get about 6 they can grab a beer for you, 8 pour wine, 11 mix a drink and 15 drive you with their permit. (that might be suspect but)

Use them wisely to save your own energy.
