…yeah this is a story 5 years ago I’d think was incredibly tragic but now with 3 boys under 4, I can’t even watch the coverage of this because I don’t want to think how awful this would be.
Just getting back from a beach trip and you feel like an a-hole for complaining that they were pains in the arse at times…

Praise You In This Storm. Such powerful words. Many may feel their prayers haven’t been sufficient, there are no words, really. It brings comfort to know the Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf when we don’t know what to pray. These kids, their strength, their song. May He hold them tightly and bless them with peace, strength, courage and healing in the coming days.

And to thank early on people were trying to argue that this isn't a Christian camp because the sympathy directed toward white Christian children was uncomfortable for many

Well that’s sad. Kids are kids. Personally, I didn’t even know it was a “white Christian camp” when learning of this tragedy. Just that it was kids and camp staff/counselors. Only when that beast Sadie share her name in Texas made that comment did I learn. Horrible people.

This keeps getting worse.

It's a camp that you get on the waitlist when your kids are infants or you probably won't get them in when they're old enough to attend. Lots of legacies... just happens to be mostly white people

Anyone seen a site with who’s been found vs still missing? I assume they’re slow rolling releasing names if the girls.

i inferred from a few posts earlier in the thread that they are only notifying parents for the time being, presumably because there are still several missing...

It’s not all white. My daughter had to interview to be accepted.

That makes sense. Trying to keep up with this from the other side of the world to see if they found the girl we know.

Ahhh, okc thx. I remember when my kids were young and some of the higher ups at work sent their daughters to a camp in Mentone, AL. I thought how fun that would be so looked it up. Then quickly closed the page bc not in my budget. Good for those kids getting to experience camp and perhaps make life long friends and also learn skills. Never in my life would I gloat if anything happened to the “rich kids” nor if the kids were of a different race. This is heartbreaking no matter who. We have to find our humanity. This is not the America I grew up in. I don’t recall anyone saying that the girl recently lost in the gulf area is black and therefore made an ugly comment. All were looking and praying for her.

The second tweet, about the Kerr county S&R update is what I'm sharing. It won't let me post just it.

My stepson and his half brothers attended the boys camp in Mentone. His half sister attended the camp you're talking about as a camper and as a counselor. They are both high end, but as my wife and I were discussing, they are both in the mountains of Alabama and not in a place where you'd have to worry about a flash flood.

Good for them, great experience. Beautiful area.

That it is, never knew about that part of Alabama until the kid went to camp there.
