If they was seeking to raise minimum wage slightly to a number like $9? I wouldn't have a single issue with that.

But how do they expect to literally double minimum wage and there to not be any negative consequences.

This would destroy a lot of what was already barely hanging on from the Covid-related economic sanctions. And it wouldn't be limited to small towns. Suburban areas in places like Baton Rouge would get smoked too.

That's the entire point. To destroy anyone and anything that doesn't live the correct life in a large urban city.

they will eventually try to ban cryptos and it will fail, and with the adoption of cryptos comes a big blow to the government to dictate economic policy (which from where I'm standing, is a positive)

I believe it's the last lifeboat before this whole fiat currency sham collapses in on itself thanks to all of the stress we are placing on the USD

I'll say it again. The left has zero grasp of basic economics.

We need to do a better job of teaching economics at an earlier age so maybe more people will understand the implications of economic policy decisions.

ceteris paribus of course.

It is equal parts no grasp of basic economics coupled with their entire understanding/rationale when it comes to economics being premised SOLELY on an arbitrary and wholly subjective basis of "fairness".

Now Democratic politicians have a basic understanding of economics (or someone they can access who does). They just simply don't give a shite. The ONLY basis for their plans is "what can we give you to ensure you vote for us?" "If we increase your pay by $8.00 will you vote for me?" Great! Let's do it.

Minimum wage hikers hate big corporations, but are too fricking stupid to realize that only big corporations can afford 15/hr. Walmart and Amazon finna eat.

Minimum wage should be $0. Its none of my business what two consenting individuals agree to.

What about the workers who are currently making $15/hr? Are they expected to keep working for what is now minimum wage? Does this move drive their market value up? If so, does the person making $20/hr deserve a bump, too.

But they'll call you racist and a "bad person" for "not wanting people to receive a living wage" as you present fact based, economic research and examples showing how big of a disaster it will be.

What do they need a living wage for when they already on ebt and lifetime section 8'ers?

Goal of $15 minimum wage is get more people dependent on the government. Simple as that.

I hear that high school kids are the only ones that should be making minimum wage so it's not that big a deal

And everyone making between minimum wage and $15 per hour, what happens to them? They should make more than minimum wage right? So now their wages go up, now what about the people making a little more than $15 per hour, they should make more too right. And then the people making a little more than those people, and so on and so on.

They certainly won’t be at $15/hour.
