Reoccurring dreams

My most common one is something bad is happening to a family member or friend and I can’t call 911 on my phone

I have a reoccurring nightmare where I have to get a Covid shot and then tell people I’m not a pureblood anymore
Sad to think so many on this board live with the shame of getting the vax

I hear ya, and pretty much the same for me but I have my phone and mistakenly dial 411 and my friend dies.

This subject comes up from time to time. Mine is going to a calculus class, not having studied a whit and having a test paper handed out. And then getting a feeling of panic more or less in that order.

I remember back in my 30s for what seemed like the entire decade I had recurring dreams about seeing an alligator or several. It was never a scary dream, just randomly would see them while dreaming, and I’d have them about once a week

I haven't been a classroom teacher in a decade, but I still have anxiety-filled dreams of being unprepared for class.
I find that in my dreams I'm often college-agish as well--whatevery that may signify.

Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of sun-god robes on a pyramid with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

Reoccurring means it occurs more than once, but not necessarily repeatedly.
Recurring means it occurs repeatedly.

Mines similar. I have to go back to take a high school physics class that I haven’t been to single lecture. I cannot find my locker or text book for the final and I’m wondering how in the hell am I going to take this test? I then remember that I have been practicing dentistry for 33 years and I don’t need this. Then I wake up still in a panic.

I’ve read a lot that people have those dreams about being late or unprepared for class or showing up naked. I have never had those.
The ones I have multiple times are where tornadoes are coming toward me and I try to run from them but they follow me and I wake up right before they get me.
Another is I’ll be watching a jet fly over and it keeps coming by and breaks the sound barrier. Eventually the entire sky is full of jets of all kinds and sizes, many of which are absolutely massive, all going supersonic and creating sonic booms endlessly.
My mind does strange things to me when I sleep.

I had the same nightmare about showing up to a class in college and it being test day.
But I didn’t know and wasn’t prepared.

Crumbling teeth and remembering I’m enrolled in a class I haven’t been to once just before finals.

I never once had the big test I was worried about dream.
I have had reoccurring dreams of
Being in a runaway car in the back seat and I can’t get to the front to stop it
Naked in a public place
Dreams where my grandfathers were there hanging out with the family, even though they had already passed on and I realized in the dreams that they had passed on. I’ve had this one more than once about both of them.

I've been out of school for 7 years but I still get one where I accidentally register for a class when going through online registration, and don't realize it until I'm told that I'm failing.

That's a phallic dream.

Similar, have a bachelors degree in CS from UL and graduated cum laude over 30 years ago and made a successful career out of it, but still had a similar re-occurring dream that I had not studied and was flunking out of my calculus and/or physics classes (which I actually made all A’s / B’s in) and wasn’t going to be able to graduate.
Haven’t had it in several years but over the years must have had this dream a half dozen times easy.
OT psychs what does it mean?
Quasi - civilian PTSD from the crazy college stress days when I was also working full time and had already started a family, I guess.
At least I wasn’t naked in the quad (UL).
Absolutely love the dreams where I’m hunting, fishing, or doing anything really with my paw paw or little brother both of who have been gone for some time.

Had it last night actually:
I’m in either high school or college and there’s a ton of work in a math class that I haven’t done yet, I haven’t set foot in the class all year/completely forgot I had it, and it’s finals week.

The next time you have that dream look me up, I’m the dude who got there late with no idea where his classes are and won’t graduate unless I pass the tests that day….haha
I’ve been out of school for 50 years..
