Regret really sucks. You can always move back in a few years if you move back but you may not get another offer if you back out.

Shouldn't have accepted the offer.

You will make your life much worse if you go back on this offer. Might as well look for another company to work for cause you will have shown them with your action that you are not an employee they can ever rely on.

Quit being a pussy and take advantage of a great opportunity being laid at your feet.

Southwest and frontier has cheap 2 way tickets from denver to texas and non stop.

My only regret would be 20% salary raise is not good. Denver has bay area cost of living and state tax. Texas has no state tax.
May be you should bring it up and use it as a reason

Unfortunately true. Most of my friends from high school and college (from all corners of the state) will never even consider moving out of Louisiana, even if it's only a few hours away

No it doesn't. It's getting more expensive, but it's not even in the same zip code as SF.

I moved 6 hours away for college then another 5 hours south for work to another state. My entire family is in another state but it’s a close state to drive to.

It's not like it's a cross country move. Probably a 10 hour drive or a couple hour flight.

Go for it, you can always move back after a year or so if you don't like it

You'll be fine. Denver is a huge transplant area and filled with people from other states. Seek them out after your move. Not only will it provide real insight on how to start a new life there but will undoubtedly be the easiest way to make new friends.

it's been mentioned but bears repeating...
weed is legal in Colorado
like, you walk into a store, your weedtender takes your order, and you pay for it and leave

think about what you are doing

Really really bad idea unless there is an emergency reason like to take the job you’d have to move your taking care of a sick relative.

Piece of shite reneged on an offer 1 day before he was about to start when we were very undermanned and in a bad spot.

Our coworkers who referred him got marks against them. It was leaked to an industry wide business partner and they told most firms within our industry that “piece of shite who works at xxxxxx is not a trustworthy hire.” He better like where he’s at because it’s not highly likely he will be hired within our industry anytime soon.

I just accepted this yesterday. I don’t move for a few weeks and the business starts in late April. I wouldn’t be screwing them.

Now is the stage in your life to take risks. As you get older you will likely wonder how life would have been if you would have taken a different path through life. I wish you luck with your decision.

Denver is an amazing place, and DEN offers affordable flights to pretty much every major hub in America, and you could realistically travel home a couple times a month if you really wanted/needed to for just a few hundred dollars. Create some space in your budget for travel and give it a shot. You’ll love it.
