Well, my little unofficial rain gauge from the bank says we got 4” of rain at some point today in northern WBR. Guess I was one of the lucky “bullseye” recipients.

Why is this a named storm? It looks like a massive rainmaker right now.

It isn’t, at least not yet.

They shouldn't, it would be dumb to waste the name of King Arthur on this rainstorm
However, given the NHC? Yeah they'll name it one way or another

Yes, but for other reasons.

Thats image alone just makes me think it shouldn't be named, so stretched out due to the interaction with the stalled frontal boundary.
But we name winter storms now so everything's all good
ETA: like upgrading to a TD is fine, but a TS? Dumb, screw "technical" definitions

Not a drop where I am south of Lafayette. Today was supposed to be a rain out.

If it gets named Arthur it will be tomorrow...still has to get more over the open water; has a nice spin & outflow. Will likely pass close to Port Arthur ...go figure!
Movement paralleling close to the TX Coast + Wind shear will keep it weak. But still capable of producing Tornadoes / Water Spouts
...pressure is slowly coming down at 1004 millibars
But I totally understand..plenty seasons they have wasted "Letters" naming very weak 40mph TSs that only last briefly in the far Atlantic
