SWBNO workers have already evacuated their stations and the pumps are offline. Entergy has already confirmed that if the SWBNO workers were to return to their post, there would not be power for them to work anyways.

I actually do need to get some TP and haven't made it to the store yet this week. Looks like I'm coming home with a few extra rolls from work

For comparison to the August 2016 event, here's a map of estimated rainfall totals.

You can easily see that anywhere from 10" to oer 20" of rain fell right over EBR and Livingston parishes, which is where the heart of the Amite basin lies.

ONE model output of this upcoming event:

If that particular model verifies, the Amite will not experience anything close to the 2016 flood event. Seeing the 2016 rainfall map gives me much more peace of mind now, because they do not look close at all. Now, if that GRAF model shifts that sector of really intense totals to the west by 50 miles, then we're in for it.

Any shifts would probably be to the east, though. At least according to everything I'm reading. Time will tell.

It's a shame schools are out and we'll miss all the school closure drama.

Cm’n man. Is this really the way to make the best out of a bad situation?
