with the amount of traffic on 190, speeding aint an option

You think Billy's and Kartchner's get together every few months and pay someone to get in a wreck and shut the bridge down?

Krotz Springs absolutely benefits from the increased traffic.

If you’re in the left lane not passing... yes.

If you're driving 70+, then you're breaking the law (on bridge)

55mph in Right lane and 70 + in Left is asking for problems

"The stretch of I-10 between I-49 in Lafayette and Breaux Bridge has been the site of 477 crashes, including two fatalities, between May of 2017 and the end of 2018.

The section from near Henderson westward to the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge has had 137 crashes and no fatalities during the same period."

614 accidents from I-10/I-49 to Henderson from 5/17 thru 12/18!!!! This is great example of why Louisiana's DOTD is the most incompetent agency in the state. Add four lanes on each side and charge a vehicle toll for a high speed lane.

A big part of this is the construction

Dumbasses going 80 in a 55 construction zone with lanes barely wide enough for an 18 wheeler

Yep, I am eastbound now there is a lot of traffic, but it is flowing well from what I have seen. I haven't made it to Krotz Springs yet

If you speed on 190 your car will explode between port barre and i49 from the road craters

It is like that in the right lane only

This is the only place where it might be ok to camp out in the passing lane unless you like beating up your car . The road condition is beyond turrible in that stretch

Heavy traffic at Livonia, westbound. There is a trooper controlling the light but traffic looks backed up about 1-1.5 miles

Yep still a cluster as of 5:00. They had some rescue baskets on the bridge which I’m assuming is for a rescue plan for the workers out there. Also saw an ambulance leaving the scene with its lights on but no siren.

Lots of reasons why this could be a true statement, but this section of I-10 isn't one of them. I-10 is straight as an arrow and flat for miles and miles. You want to see a dangerous road, go drive around in the mountains. Cracks me up when I hear people from Louisiana whining about how "dangerous" the roads are here. Pay half-arse attention and they are perfectly safe.

Huge crew is still working on the road. I’m passing it heading East right now.

A damn 18-wheeler passed me a few minutes ago and he was in the left lane doing at least 75.

I was the one that was right behind the first wreck that caused all of this. Damn Camaro flying in the damn rain that rear ended another car.

Another main problem with the road being completed blocked immediately after the first wreck was that a fella had the right lane blocked because he was stopped and carrying on a damn conversation with the guy that got rear ended.

I pulled in between them honking and yelled to get off the damn road because there was an explosion right behind us and cars needed to get the hell out of the way.

I understand people wanting more patrol on the basin, and I agree. However, recently I noticed them shooting radar right over a hump causing speeders/drivers slamming on their breaks hoping not to be caught, causing other drivers braking and the ones not paying attention and slamming into someone else. They should use radar cameras or helicopters to mark a speeding car and send it to a officer not sitting on the bridge.

Excellent strategy. If the sandwiches are out, just pivot to the buffet.

I past the accident yesterday at 5:30P. There is still a ton of shite on the road that needs to be moved. I doubt they get it all cleared today. Might be tomorrow before they get done.
