Reminder of exactly what the signers and founders of this nation were putting on the line.

As I go through my yearly Independence Day watching of ‘John Adams’ on HBO, excellent miniseries might I add, I’m reminded of the weight that the men that signed the Declaration of Independence must have felt. What absolute intestinal fortitude those men had! And it came at no little cost, either.

The fact that those men, many very young, were so brilliant and so courageous to know and act on the fact that men are free by nature, and were willing to sign their names on the dotted line in the biggest middle finger in world history moves me. Thomas Jefferson, especially, understood liberty moreso than any man I can think of.

Where are our Jeffersons? Where are our Washingtons? Where are our Adams? Where are our Hancocks? Those men knew what it meant to sign their name and signed regardless. Where are our torch-bearers of liberty in this day and age!

I thank almighty God that my ancestors saw fit to not only brave the seas to come to this nation in the early 1700s, but to aid in its liberation from tyranny in those days at Cowpens and King’s Mountain.

We need more men like those.

And it makes me sad that we are where we are today. People depending on a government check, poverty, no shits given about the average hard working American. All about the vote to keep corrupt assholes in power who could give two shits about people only lining their own pockets. It’s a travesty and makes me sad what my ancestors did in previous wars as I’m sure many of yours did. If those guys saw what was going on today they would probably cry and wonder what in the world happened. Cause I do everyday

The gulag in DC with no end in sight after January 6th.

But seriously the focus has been taken off of what’s best for our country and become about what’s best for each person. I bet if you asked young people today what they’d be willing to sacrifice for America, less than 25% would say their lives.

Benjamin Tallmadge, Robert Townsend, James Rivington, Austin Roe, Abraham Woodhull and a lady known only as 355.

These patriots and unsung hero’s was Washington’s spies known as the Culper Ring. These bravest of the patriots did more to win independence than they get credit for.

The Culper Ring risked their lives everyday to give Washington the vital information needed to defeat the British and the loyalists. They basically uncovered the plot Benedict Arnold had planned to give up West Point to the British.

Oh wretched generation.. If you are waiting for human perfection in order to get behind a goal, a set of principles, and a move that will eventually bring about freedom and liberty for all, then you will never move forward one iota.

It’s this kind of child like mentality that really irks me, the very same that’s behind the whole Marxist BLM group think, that you can’t stand and honor this country because we haven’t reached perfection in order to qualify for their self righteous stamp of approval.

Name 1 single solitary country that’s achieved perfection and hasn’t had a history of wrongs in their existence. You can’t, and neither can I because it doesn’t exist as the watermark is completely unattainable, but what does exist is a country steeped in an idea of freedom and liberty for humanity away from government intrusion, and not only is that rare, it’s ground breaking unbelievable, and what makes it worse, is those who enjoy that and bitch about it are the worst of all humanity as they would have us all in bondage if you leave it up to them, They would have us all at each other’s throats, and they do, because they gravitate to Marxist division, not freedom and liberty, and the only thing they have to offer is bitching and complaining, and division.

Watching a History Channel re-enactment of Ben Franklin's last meeting with his british loyalist son Gov. William Franklin reminded me of the same polarizing identity politics that's resurfaced today. Lines are drawn in the sand, even among families & friends. Political ideologies so starkly opposite, they can't co-exist peacefully.

Ben & William never reconciled. William was eventually forced into exile & fled for refuge offered by the like-minded sheep in England.

Lots of these died through the years to ensure that the reality matched the ideals upon which the system was founded. Of course it’s an ongoing struggle.

Or I guess you can tap out and go to that other place where there has never been any racism, oppression or class division

Benjamin Banneker personally wrote the hypocrite Jefferson in 1791.....

" This sir , was a time in which you clearly saw into the injustice of a State of Slavery , and your abhorrence thereof was so excited, that you publicly held forth this true & invaluable doctrine...' We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal'..........
Here Sir , was a time in which your feelings for yourselves had thus engaged you to declare, you were impressed with the proper ideas of LIBERTY, the free possession of those blessings to which you were entitled by nature. But Sir, how pitiable is it to reflect, that although you were so fully convinced of the benevolence of the Father of Mankind, and of his equal & impartial rights.......that you should at the same time counteract his mercies, in detaining by fraud & violence so numerous of my brethren under gnashing captivity & cruel oppression, that you should be found Guilty of that most criminal act....."-Banneker
