Power is a powerful thing. Lots of what was done was simply a control mechanism. Multiple people have been caught admitting that masks weren’t a health measure but a suppression mechanism through fear. It helped get people in line and to remind them of the virus every moment possible this scaring them into behaving the way the government wants.

I remember going to the French Quarter a few days after it all started and it was surreal, mostly empty.

One place was allowed to serve drinks at a window but they had to "serve" food if you got a drink, so they were selling bags of chips.

It was the like the #1000 most absurd thing and that is saying something

They didn’t like being called out for going crazy. Mass hysteria and manipulation. We are all witnesses. Some of us like OLM admit to them being fooled and naive. Those people give me hope. But there are millions who are gone forever.

My favorite was when it was 6 feet in the lines, but parallel lines were not 6 feet apart.

This feels like revisionist history. Republican politicians were in favor of the shutdowns as well. Most people were.

Republicans were more likely to be against the mask and vaccine mandates. But that didnt come really until 2021. But originally back in early 2020, mostly everyone agreed on shutting down until we figured things out.

Jesus what a bunch of losers

Didn’t Malik Agar used to be a good poster at one point?

I have a large group text with several friends we use frequently and ever now and then lately I’ll text some “remember when…” example of ridiculous Covid stuff and they all get mad I even brought it up, or act like they don’t remember it happening

Our country is suffering from a pride pandemic more than anything

Nah this is mostly bullshite. Plenty of people were against shutdowns and screamed from the rooftops about it, got called names and tin foil hat wearers. That thread linked I think last page is scary to read though. People wanted to dox a dude taking his daughter to a dance. 15 years ago I think Rs and Ds would have no doubt fought those shutdowns, clown world we live in now

Pussy move, but that was before any lockdowns I believe. Didn’t the NBA suspend the season on the 12th? I’ll give some break when we didn’t know what the virus was. We quickly understood it though, which is why I bombarded the DeBlasio rat line saying I saw the mayor breaking quarantine giving out free handjobs behind the Plaza Hotel among other things. They shut that down in like a week since people didn’t put up with that shite. One chick cried, but frick her for agreeing to do that Gestapo job.

I do think I let my hatred for the media and DeBlasio blind me a bit. Since New York was a total shite show and everyone already hated DeBlasio, he made an easy scapegoat. But here’s the thing: not many nursing homes in NYC, so that’s way more on Andrew Cuomo than DeBlasio.

Also like Chris Cuomo breaking quarantine multiple times and then lying about it really pissed me off. Like in mid-March he’d get on the fricking elevator, and from what we and he knew at the time was fricking ridiculous lockdown or no lockdown.

And since the media was all over the map, it was easy to be bamboozled by someone like Anthony Fauci at the beginning. You can see incompetence all around, but Fauci was a southing voice at the beginning who seemed (keyword), but when I really went and looked back at his comments in early April, I realized that he was a fraud.

I deliver packages and business was booming that year for all the wrong reasons.

We didn't have enough help because people were getting paid more to stay at home and not work.

So, six days a week working and doing 140-150 stops almost every day on a rural route, that was it.

I did rack up some cash, but you want to talk about having almost zero fun being dog tired every night, I couldn't go out if I wanted to all the bars were closed.

And sure, enough every once in a while, you'd have some pansy loser who would complain if they saw you not wearing a mask. Even though you weren't up close to them. God forbid I'm not wearing it while I drive in my truck by myself. Yes, that actually happened. My supervisor told me even to not worry about it.

He broke quarantine. After his other daughter came into contact with pretty much every touchable surface in the St Louis metro area.

What he did was fricking moronic and self absorbed.

He deserves every bad thing that happens to him.

This is from that thread from poster ProjectP, who's either Chinese or Justin Trudeau himself. "He broke quarantine". Land of the free my arse.

He’s actually a very good baseball poster. He’s from that area and he let the media get the best of him.

Imo, the biggest fraud in the beginning was the CNN/Fredo/Gupta propaganda against HCQ. They would run primetime broadcasts stating how HCQ will kill you. Meanwhile in many states like Louisiana, nursing homes were getting stockpiles of HCQ and z-packs in the summer of 2020 and those prophylaxis and therapeutic treatments brought our census numbers back from 60% to the par line of 85% and higher. Every ER doctor in America was also taking HCQ as a prophylaxis but the hospitals didn't say shite because they were making money hand over fist going along with the CDC and Fauci protocol. Oh and I forgot that gay queer fairy Lemon or whatever his name is...not a night wouldn't go by where that princess was fear porning against HCQ.

He certainly deserves some criticism, but compared to the most egregious political actions that happened? I don't know, man.
