Are they basing their intelligence of our Navy based on Top Gun? That movie is about 25 years old now so it probably just made it there.
I mean, they see videos of our own pilots being dumb enough to think Meg Ryan is hot and failing to sing The Righteous Brothers in key...I can understand why they think that attack would work.
....but even they have to know we would destroy them in beach volleyball. I noticed they didn't even bother preparing for that. Wise choice, Un.

Look into the geography of the Straits of Hormuz, and then note that the 5th fleet headquarters in Bahrain is within a shorter distance to Iran than many people here's weekend fishing trips.
