Many factors to consider other than just fuel. However, I did just get a new updated bill for my garbage service with a "fuel surcharge increase". I called them and they said "everyone charges that" which i replied "yeah when oil is over $100/barrel....its $30". They told my neighbor it was a mistake. Seems some may have conditioned us to where we just pay it and move along.

Why the hell are they still the same as when gas was 4 bucks a gallon then?

I was talking to my uber driver this weekend and he was saying that the company slashed rates 40%. Great for the consumer but not for him. If that is indeed true, (I don't take it enough to notice) that is really surprising to me. I figured they would stash the extra profits away like the airlines claim to do.

I've said this several times. They use fuel prices as a reason to raise their own prices. But, when fuel prices go down, no chance they lower their own prices.

One place I have noticed is dropping prices is Winn-Dixie. It's nice to see at least some businesses are aware of consumers.

then they should deflate with the cost of fuel as well.

Supply and demand determines price not cost.

You were just dumb enough to accept the fuel surcharge line.

That's a good question, call the gas or electricity company and ask why the frick you're still seeing a fuel surcharge on your bill

It's called Rockets and Feathers.

Prices will rocket up for the least little reason.

But come down like a feather only when forced to.

Funny how that works.

See it a lot here at work. Many places added a fuel surcharge when prices were up... but its still there now that prices are way down.

Can't speak for everyone, but I work in transportation, and we eliminated our fuel surcharge for the time being since gas prices are so low.

we dont have a fuel surcharge, we have incrased kwh rates due to 'rising energy costs' that never EVER go down.

you can bet your sweet arse they will go up AGAIN if oil climbs to $75/barrel as if this is something new to them.

I buy about 100 gallons of fuel a month on average for my daily driver. My fuel cost is less than half of what it was but not one penny of that money saved is in my bank account. I spent all that shite.

Sorry people lost their jobs but life is better this way.

Brahs, gas prices have been coming down. A lot.

Airfares have also dropped significantly. This article was right.
