quote:Wait, what's this you claim?
Remember how the cost of fuel made the prices of services and goods go up?
Why the hell are they still the same as when gas was 4 bucks a gallon then?
And why is motor oil so damn high?
This is starting to piss me off. If businesses are going to tie the inflation of their prices to the cost of fuel, then they should deflate with the cost of fuel as well.
Anywhere you know of that has brought their prices down on account of cheap gas?
Business playing an incredibly intellectual America for a fool?
Well, that's a first.

We have a fuel surcharge that changes (up or down) at the beginning of each quarter based on a specific calculation that's bounced off the average diesel cost in our region. And yes, it has been dropped
A price increase is totally different, and we have one of those every year. For one, most of our vendors do, and secondly budgets aren't going down and we like money.
My guess is that people who said their prices have gone up because of fuel costs didn't really know wtf they were talking about.

Would there be any real way to force an industry to lower its prices?
You get a dumbed-down, narcissistic sheople-like society to boycott it.
Good luck with that.

Wages probably increased along with inflation.

This is why the implementation of the "Fair Tax" would be such a nightmare.
Proponents tell us that a large cost of goods are the embedded taxes. Tack on 23% national retail sales tax and then instantly prices of the goods themselves will drop like rocks when the embedded taxes are removed.
Theoretically, they are right, but I wouldnt hold my breath waiting on it. In the meantime 23% inflation.

Maybe I can convince the SJWs that electricity is sexist or something.

Airlines are making a killing. Didn't they tie the luggage fees to extra weight and added fuel costs as well.
Maybe, but airline stocks are down 15% YTD as of Friday 1/29/16.
